DJI account: create, log in and reset your password

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

To log in to DJI Fly, open the app, tap Profile and choose Log In, then enter your DJI account email and password. If you forgot the password, enter your email, tap Next, then Forgot password, and follow the link DJI sends from noreply@dji.com. New users can create a free DJI account from the same screen or at account.dji.com.

Reset your DJI password
From DJI's help center. Resets are limited to 10 emails; after that, DJI says you wait 24 hours from the first email to try again.

Create a DJI account

  1. Open DJI Fly (or DJI Mimo for Osmo products) and tap Profile.
  2. Choose to log in, then pick the option to sign up.
  3. Enter an email address you'll keep long term, and set a password.
  4. Follow any verification prompts, then log in.

Use the same account for all your DJI gear. DJI says accounts can't be merged and account data can't be combined, so splitting drones across two accounts makes warranty and Care claims harder later.

Log in on a phone or DJI RC

  • RC-N1, RC-N2 or RC-N3 (phone as screen): turn on mobile data or Wi-Fi on the phone, open DJI Fly, tap Profile and log in. Then plug the phone into the controller.
  • DJI RC or DJI RC 2 (built-in screen): the controller needs its own internet. Swipe down for quick settings, join Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot, then open DJI Fly and log in.
  • Neo and Flip from a phone: log in before you connect to the drone's Wi-Fi, with mobile data on.

The DJI Mini 3 works the same way: with the RC-N1, log in on your phone; with the DJI RC, connect the controller to Wi-Fi first.

Reset a forgotten password

In the app: Profile > Log In > enter your email > Next > Forgot password.

On the web: go to DJI's login page and click Forgot password?

Then confirm your email address, open the reset email from noreply@dji.com and enter a new password twice. If it doesn't arrive, tap Resend Email and check spam. DJI limits resets to 10 emails; after that you wait 24 hours from the first email.

Login errors and fixes

DJI's help center lists these causes:

  • Network error: the phone or RC isn't online. Switch networks or turn off a VPN.
  • "Account is being deleted": an account in its deletion period can't log in.
  • "Account frozen": reset the password, then log in again.
  • Wrong password or invalid email: check for typos, then reset the password.
  • No clear error: try logging in on DJI's website. If the website works, the problem is the app or network. If neither works, reset the password.

For the "account not logged in" or "check network" banner in flight, see account not logged in and check network.

Why you need to stay logged in

DJI's manuals say flight is limited to 30 m (98 ft) height and 50 m (164 ft) distance when the drone isn't connected to, or logged into, the app. DJI also says that if a screen controller or the app hasn't been online for more than 90 days, the app logs you out. Log in at home before a trip.

Logging in also lets you bind the drone to your account, which DJI requires before it can produce a flyaway report for DJI Care Refresh.

Phone numbers and account details

If DJI Fly asks you to add or verify a phone number, follow the on-screen steps with a number you control. DJI says usernames and profile pictures can't be changed on DJI's main site; change them through the DJI Forum's personal settings.

Selling or buying a used drone

Logging out doesn't release the drone. The seller has to unbind it from their account. See unbind a DJI drone from an account.
