How to transfer DJI Avata 2 photos and videos to your phone or computer

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

To transfer DJI Avata 2 footage to your phone, use QuickTransfer: power on the drone, turn on your phone's Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location, open DJI Fly, tap the QuickTransfer card at the bottom left of the home screen, and pick the Avata 2. To move files to a PC or Mac, connect the drone itself by USB-C cable with the Avata 2 powered off, or put its microSD card in a card reader. Your full-quality 4K clips are on the drone, not the goggles.

Avata 2: which transfer?
The drone's 4K files live on the Avata 2 itself (microSD or 46 GB internal). The goggles only store their own screen recordings.

QuickTransfer to iPhone or Android

  1. Power on the Avata 2 and let the self-check finish.
  2. On the phone, enable Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location services.
  3. Open DJI Fly and tap the QuickTransfer card at the bottom left of the home screen. Select the aircraft.
  4. The first time, press and hold the drone's power button for two seconds when prompted. The battery LEDs blink from the inside out, then stay solid.
  5. Browse and download. Files save to your phone.

Things to know:

  • DJI rates the speed at up to 30 MB/s in a low-interference lab. Keep the phone within about 2 m with nothing in between.
  • While QuickTransfer is connected, the drone disconnects from the goggles and controller. They reconnect when you exit. If DJI Fly closes unexpectedly, restart the drone to reconnect.
  • Don't hold the drone's power button too long, or you'll start the linking process instead.

Connect the Avata 2 to a PC or Mac

  1. Leave the Avata 2 powered off. DJI says it doesn't need to be on.
  2. Connect the drone's USB-C port to the computer with a data cable.
  3. Copy files from the microSD card or the 46 GB internal storage.

Or remove the microSD card and use a card reader. Never pull the card while the drone is on or recording.

Export goggles recordings

The Goggles 3 can save a 1080p recording of your view, OSD included, to their own microSD card.

  1. Power on the goggles.
  2. Connect the goggles' USB-C port to the computer with a USB-A to USB-C cable and follow the on-screen prompts.
  3. Using a USB-C fast-charging cable instead? In the goggles menu go to Settings > About and enter OTG Wired Connection mode to export.

"Stream to phone" vs transfer

Watching the live view on a phone is different from transferring files. Goggles 3 can share the live feed to DJI Fly by cable or Wi-Fi. That's covered in stream Avata 2 to a PC, phone or TV.

Tips

  • For whole sessions of 4K/100 or D-Log M, a card reader is the quickest route.
  • Move files off internal storage regularly. DJI notes write speed can drop with long use; the goggles will prompt you to move data and format.
  • After transfer, stabilize Wide clips shot with stabilization off in Gyroflow. See edit FPV footage with Gyroflow.
