DJI Care Express is the fast-track way to use a DJI Care Refresh replacement. You register the case, pay your model's replacement fee up front, and DJI skips its usual inspection of the damaged drone so the replacement reaches you sooner. It's not a separate plan you buy: it's included with Care Refresh, and it only works for damage that Care Refresh covers.

How it works
- Register a Care Express case on DJI's Care Refresh support page.
- Pay the listed replacement fee for your model.
- Ship the damaged product back to DJI.
- DJI ships the replacement, with free shipping.
To use it, the drone must have an active Care Refresh plan with at least one replacement left, and the damage must be in scope: collision, water damage or natural wear. Learn the full claim process in how to claim DJI Care Refresh.
Care Express Basic vs Premium
DJI says that in certain locations Care Express comes in two versions:
- Basic: you pay the replacement fee, and DJI ships the replacement after it receives your damaged unit.
- Premium: DJI ships the replacement as soon as payment goes through (weekends and holidays can delay it). On top of the fee, DJI places a pre-authorization hold on your credit card, up to the product's value, and releases it when your damaged unit arrives.
With Premium, ship the old unit quickly. DJI's terms say that if it doesn't arrive within the agreed return period, generally 7 to 14 calendar days, or if the serial number doesn't match or you send the wrong item, DJI can charge the held amount.
How much does it cost?
Care Express itself has no extra fee. You pay the same Care Refresh replacement fee you'd pay through standard service. In the US, DJI's current damage replacement fees include $65 for a Mini 4 Pro, $99 for an Air 3S and $49 for an Avata 2. Check DJI's page for your model, since fees vary and can change.
Care Express vs standard repair
| Choose Care Express if | Choose standard service if |
|---|---|
| The damage is clearly from a crash or water | You think the drone has a manufacturing defect |
| You want the replacement as fast as possible | You want DJI to quote a repair and compare it with the replacement fee |
| You have a replacement left on your plan | Your drone flew away and wasn't recovered |
DJI notes that with Care Express it won't inspect or offer warranty service on the damaged part, though the replacement unit is still under warranty. If a fault might be DJI's responsibility, a standard request lets DJI check it first, which could save you a replacement. Flyaway claims go through DJI's separate flyaway report, not Care Express.
Tips before you file
- Have the aircraft serial number and your Care Refresh status ready.
- Send back everything the claim covers. If you register a battery replacement, the battery has to go back.
- Remove your microSD card and copy your photos first.
Plan terms and fees are set by DJI and can change. Check DJI's current terms for your model.
