"No image transmission signal" means the live video from the drone isn't reaching your screen, even if the drone is powered and connected. DJI lists five causes: firmware versions that don't match, radio interference, controller antennas pointing the wrong way, a faulty microSD card, or an unsupported phone. Update everything, switch the transmission channel to Auto, aim the antennas at the drone, and restart with the microSD card removed.

Fixes, in order
- Update firmware. DJI says the app and firmware versions must support each other; for example, a controller on old firmware may not support the drone. Update the drone and controller (or goggles) to the latest versions. See how to update DJI firmware.
- Check the channel. In DJI Fly, tap ··· > Transmission and choose Auto rather than Manual, so the system picks the clearest channel. If interference is strong, move somewhere without dense buildings.
- Aim the antennas. DJI's best reception is with the flat faces of the controller antennas facing the drone. Don't point the tips at it.
- Reset the microSD card. DJI lists a corrupted or incompatible card as a cause. Remove it, restart the drone, then reinsert it.
- Try another phone. If you're using a phone with the controller, relaunch DJI Fly and reconnect. If that fails, test with a phone on DJI's compatibility list.
- Re-link. If nothing works, re-pair the drone and controller. See DJI drone not connecting to controller.
Lost video in flight
If the picture freezes or drops mid-flight, the usual cause is something between you and the drone. DJI's advice is to climb above the obstacle, which usually brings the video back. DJI's Mini 3 manual adds that if video drops while you still have control, DJI Fly prompts you to start Return to Home. For range problems, read why does my drone keep losing signal.
DJI Neo no video
In phone control the Neo uses Wi-Fi, which is shorter-range and more sensitive to interference than a controller link. DJI caps it at 50 m distance and 30 m height in that mode, and says to fly away from Wi-Fi interference and power off any other device connected to the Neo first. If the view stays black:
- Close DJI Fly, turn your phone's Wi-Fi off and on, and reconnect to the Neo.
- Forget other Wi-Fi networks nearby that the phone might jump to.
- Update the Neo's firmware.
DJI Avata 2 no image transmission
The Avata 2 sends video to the goggles, not a phone. If the goggles show no signal:
- Make sure the drone, goggles and controller are all on current firmware. Mixed versions are a common cause.
- Re-link the drone to the goggles. See Avata 2 not connecting to goggles.
Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro no video
With the RC-N1 and a phone, the phone cable is a common failure point. Use the right cable for your phone, reseat it, and keep DJI Fly in the foreground. See RC not connected to mobile device. On the DJI RC, update the controller itself.
When it's a fault
If there's no video in an open field after updates, a re-link and a different phone, contact DJI or start a repair. A damaged antenna in the drone or controller can cause this.
