How to transfer DJI Mini 5 Pro photos and videos to your phone or computer

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

The fastest way to get DJI Mini 5 Pro footage onto a phone is QuickTransfer in DJI Fly: turn on your phone's Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and location, open DJI Fly, and tap the QuickTransfer card on the home screen. It works even when the drone is powered off, as long as it's asleep. For a computer, plug the drone in with a USB-C data cable, or put the microSD card in a card reader.

Mini 5 Pro transfer methods
From DJI's Mini 5 Pro manual and specs. QuickTransfer drops to about 6 MB/s on 2.4 GHz. Internal storage is 42 GB.

QuickTransfer to your phone

  1. Power on the drone and wait for the self-check to finish (or use sleep mode, below).
  2. On the phone, turn on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and location.
  3. Start QuickTransfer one of three ways:
    • Tap the QuickTransfer card on the DJI Fly home screen.
    • Go to Album and tap the QuickTransfer icon at top right.
    • With DJI Fly open, press the side button on the drone.
  4. The first time you connect a phone, press and hold the drone's power button to confirm.
  5. Browse the files and download what you need.

You don't need to enter a Wi-Fi password in phone settings. DJI Fly connects for you.

Side button notes: it doesn't work the first time a phone connects, or when the drone is fully off. On iPhone, if DJI Fly is in the background, pressing it sends a notification you tap to open QuickTransfer. On Android, DJI Fly needs to be open.

Transfer with the drone off (sleep mode)

Allow QuickTransfer in Sleep is on by default. After you power off, the drone sleeps and you can still connect and download. Toggle it in DJI Fly under settings, then Camera.

  • Sleep mode ends after 12 hours of inactivity, when you swap the battery, or when you plug in USB-C.
  • To restore it, unplug USB-C, press the power button once and wait about 15 seconds.
  • While it's in sleep transfer, battery LEDs 1 and 2 and LEDs 3 and 4 blink alternately.
  • QuickTransfer exits after a minute without a Wi-Fi connection or with the app closed and no downloads running.

How fast is it?

DJI quotes up to 100 MB/s over Wi-Fi 6, measured in a lab where 2.4 and 5.8 GHz are both allowed. If your phone doesn't support 5.8 GHz or there's heavy interference, it falls back to 2.4 GHz at up to 6 MB/s. Stay close, and keep away from routers and Bluetooth speakers.

To a computer by cable

  1. Connect the drone's USB-C port to the computer with a data cable (charge-only cables won't work).
  2. The drone doesn't need to be powered on.
  3. Open the internal storage or the microSD card and copy the files.

With a card reader

Pop out the microSD card and use a reader. It's simple and fast, but it only reaches files on the card, not the 42 GB internal storage. Footage saves to internal storage only when no card is inserted.

Transfer not working?

  • Check that Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location are all on, and grant DJI Fly the permissions it asks for.
  • Update DJI Fly and the drone firmware. The September 2025 firmware improved QuickTransfer speed and stability.
  • Try the cable method to rule out the phone.

Step-by-step fixes: Mini 5 Pro QuickTransfer not working. Computer can't see the drone? Try a different data cable and USB port.
