A large spray drone covers roughly 30 to 50 acres per hour of flying in open fields. DJI rates the Agras T50 at 21 hectares (about 52 acres) per hour and the smaller Agras T25 at 12 hectares (about 30 acres) per hour, both at a low 15 L/ha dose. Orchards, higher application rates, small fields and refill time all push the real number down.

DJI's published coverage figures
| Drone | DJI rate | In acres | DJI test settings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agras T50, field | 21 ha/h | ~52 acres/h | 15 L/ha, 11 m swath, 7 m/s, 3 m high |
| Agras T50, orchard | 4 ha/h | ~10 acres/h | 90 L/ha, 4 m swath, 4 m/s, 3 m high |
| Agras T25, field | 12 ha/h | ~30 acres/h | 15 L/ha, 7 m swath, 6.5 m/s, 2.5 m high |
| T50 spreading | 1,500 kg/h | Urea, 225 kg/ha, 8 m width |
For the Agras T100, DJI's page doesn't give a single hectares-per-hour number. It claims higher overall efficiency than the T50, from a 100 L tank, 5 to 13 m spray width and up to 40 L/min flow.
What actually sets your acres per hour
Dose. This is the biggest lever. At 15 L/ha (about 1.6 gal/acre), a 40 L tank covers about 2.7 ha (6.6 acres) per load. At 2 gal/acre it covers about 5 acres. Double the dose and you refill twice as often.
Swath width. DJI measures the T50's 4 to 11 m width at 3 m above the crop. Narrower swaths for even coverage or windy days mean more passes.
Speed. DJI's test flew the T50 at 7 m/s. Its top speed is 10 m/s, but faster isn't always better for coverage quality.
Refill and battery time. At full spray load DJI rates the T50 at about 7 minutes of hover per battery, so a tank and a battery tend to run out together. A tight ground crew and fast charging matter as much as the drone. See spray drone batteries and generators.
Field shape. Small or odd-shaped fields add turns and repositioning.
Size, weight and range
| Agras T25 | Agras T50 | Agras T100 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weight without battery | 25.4 kg | 39.9 kg | n/a |
| Weight with battery | 32 kg | 52 kg | 75 kg (spraying setup) |
| Max takeoff, spraying | 52 kg | 92 kg | 175 kg |
| Size, arms and props unfolded | 2585 × 2675 mm | 2800 × 3085 mm | 3220 × 3224 mm |
The T100 is the largest drone DJI makes for spraying. On range, DJI lets you set a flight radius of up to 2,000 m, and the T50 and T25 controller reaches 7 km (FCC) in open, interference-free conditions. In practice you work fields close to your refill point.
Spray height
DJI rates spray width at about 3 m above the crop for the T50 and T25. Flying higher widens the swath but increases drift. DJI says to spray only in wind under 6 m/s, and under 3 m/s with drift-prone herbicides or insecticides.
Planning a business
Use DJI's rates as a ceiling, not a quote. Five hours in the air at 30 acres per hour is 150 acres, and a real day loses time to mixing, moves and weather. Every one of these drones needs Part 107, a Part 137 certificate, an FAA exemption for 55 lb and up, and usually a state applicator license.
