Wedding drone videography is usually priced as an add-on to a wedding video or photo package, or as a standalone aerial service billed by the hour or half day. There's no standard price: it depends on your market, whether you edit the footage, how many locations you cover, travel, and whether the venue and airspace allow flying at all. Couples typically get a few minutes of aerial footage folded into their film, or a short edited aerial clip.

Common ways to package it
| Package | What's included | Who sells it |
|---|---|---|
| Add-on to video package | Aerial shots edited into the main film | Videographers who fly |
| Standalone aerial coverage | Time block, edited aerial highlight or raw clips | Drone specialists |
| Subcontract to a videographer | Raw aerial footage delivered to the lead filmmaker | Drone specialists |
| Photo add-on | A set of edited aerial photos | Photographers who fly |
What affects the price
- Time on site: ceremony only, or getting ready through the exit.
- Locations: multiple venues mean more travel and setup.
- Editing: delivering raw clips costs less than a graded, edited highlight.
- Airspace and permits: venues near airports need LAANC planning; parks may need permits.
- Travel and destination weddings.
- Second operator: a dedicated drone pilot so the videographer can keep filming.
- Market and demand: peak-season Saturdays book first.
Setting your rate
- Estimate hours: planning call, travel, time on site, offloading, editing.
- Add costs: insurance, batteries and drone wear, software and travel.
- Price per block, such as a half-day aerial package, rather than per minute of flying.
- Compare with local wedding videographers' published add-ons.
- Protect weather days. Your contract should say the pilot decides whether it's safe and legal to fly, and what happens if you can't. See drone photography contract.
The general method is on drone photography pricing.
What couples should ask
- Are you Part 107 certified and insured?
- Has the venue approved the drone?
- What happens if weather or airspace prevents flying? Is there a refund or credit?
- How many minutes of aerial footage will be in the final film?
- Will the drone fly over guests? (Under Part 107 it generally shouldn't, except under specific FAA categories.)
Gear and its cost
A DJI Mini 4 Pro (from $835) is small, relatively quiet and records 4K/60 HDR, which keeps equipment costs low for a wedding add-on. Pilots who want a telephoto to film from farther away often step up to the Air 3S. See best drone for weddings.
