No. DJI makes no thermal camera or thermal version of the Mini 4 Pro, Mini 5 Pro, Air 3, Air 3S or Mavic 4 Pro, and you can't swap their cameras. DJI's manuals for these drones say not to add any payload other than official accessories. If you need thermal, the smallest DJI option is the Mavic 3T (the thermal version of the Mavic 3 Enterprise), followed by the Matrice 4T and Matrice 30T.

Why not strap on a thermal camera?
Some sellers offer clip-on thermal cameras or thermal phone attachments for consumer drones. We don't recommend them:
- DJI says not to. The Air 3S and Mavic 4 Pro manuals say "DO NOT add any payload to the aircraft except the items listed" as qualified accessories, and the Mini 4 Pro manual warns that extra weight affects propulsion.
- Weight and balance. Even 50 to 100 g changes how a 249 g Mini flies, cuts flight time and stresses the motors. It can also push a sub-250 g drone over the FAA registration threshold.
- No integration. A clip-on camera has its own battery and video link. You can't see it in DJI Fly, it won't be stabilized by the gimbal, and it usually records low-resolution video with no temperature data.
- Flight safety. A dangling camera can shift the center of gravity, block downward sensors or snag a propeller.
Why DJI consumer drones don't have thermal
Good thermal sensors are expensive, and the thermal market is mostly professional: public safety, inspection, search and rescue. DJI puts thermal on its enterprise line, where the drones also have radiometric temperature measurement, laser rangefinders and DJI Pilot 2. See what is a thermal drone.
DJI drones with thermal built in
| Drone | Thermal | Weight | Why pick it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mavic 3T | 640 × 512 | 920 g | Smallest; same size class as a Mavic |
| Matrice 4T | 640 × 512 (1280 × 1024 Super Resolution) | 1,219 g | Newest; two telephotos and a laser rangefinder |
| Matrice 30T | 640 × 512 (1280 × 1024 Super Resolution) | 3.77 kg | IP55 for rain and wind |
| Zenmuse H30T on a Matrice 350 RTK or 400 | 1280 × 1024 | Payload | Highest thermal resolution |

What about the Air 3S or Mavic 4 Pro at night?
They aren't thermal, but they are good in low light. Neither has a separate Night mode; instead, normal video reaches ISO 12800, and the Mavic 4 Pro adds obstacle sensing rated down to 0.1 lux. That helps for city lights and dusk, but it won't find a person or animal in a dark field the way thermal does. See Air 3S night mode and Mavic 4 Pro night mode.
A note on US availability
DJI enterprise thermal drones authorized before December 2025 remain legal to buy and fly. A July 2026 FCC proposal would restrict further import and sale of thermal-capable foreign drones; it hasn't been adopted. Details in is DJI banned in the US.
