The Avata 2 is a classic FPV cinewhoop: one 1/1.3-inch camera with a 155-degree view, filming exactly where you point it. The Avata 360 puts two 1/1.1-inch sensors on the drone to record full 360-degree video at up to 8K/60, so you can reframe any angle after the flight, and it adds omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward LiDAR. Pick the Avata 2 for straightforward FPV footage at a lower weight; the Avata 360 is for creators who want to reframe in post. In the US, the Avata 2 is the one we can sell.

How 360 FPV changes the shot
With the Avata 2, framing happens in the air: what you see in the goggles is what you get. With the Avata 360, the drone records the whole sphere. Back home, you choose angles, add pans and rolls with the "virtual gimbal," and even film yourself as the drone flies past. That's powerful for creative edits and for never missing a moment, but it adds editing time, and a flat clip cropped from 360 video is softer than one recorded directly at the same resolution.
Safety and flying
The Avata 360's all-around vision and forward LiDAR are a major step for an FPV drone. The Avata 2 senses only downward and backward, so forward obstacles are on you, though its ducted guards handle light bumps. Both work with Goggles 3 and the RC Motion 3; DJI also lists the Avata 360 with regular RC 2, RC-N2 and RC-N3 controllers.
Rules
Both weigh more than 250 g, so register either one with the FAA ($5 for 3 years) and they broadcast Remote ID. Flying with goggles requires a visual observer next to you in the US. See are FPV drones legal and FAA registration.
Can you buy the Avata 360 in the US?
New DJI models can't receive FCC authorization after the FCC's December 2025 Covered List decision, so newer releases may not be sold here. We don't stock the Avata 360. The Avata 2 was authorized before the cutoff and is sold in the US with warranty support. Details: which DJI products are affected.
Which should you buy?
