The 2-year plan gives you twice the cover for less than twice the price: 4 replacements (including 2 for flyaways) and a 2-year warranty, vs 2 replacements (including 1 flyaway) and a 1-year warranty on the 1-year plan. On DJI's US store the Mini 4 Pro plans are $89 and $149, and the Air 3S plans $149 and $249. Buy the 2-year plan if you'll keep the drone for more than a year, and the 1-year plan if you're likely to upgrade soon. There's no 3-year plan, but you can extend.

Which plan is better value?
- 2-year if you'll fly the same drone for two seasons or more. You pay less per year and get four replacements, which matters for FPV or learning pilots who crash more.
- 1-year if you upgrade drones often, or you mainly want cover for the first months, when most crashes happen. You can extend later.
Either way, buy it with the drone or within 48 hours of activation. After that, DJI asks for a video verification first.
Renewal and the "3-year" question
DJI doesn't sell a 3-year Care Refresh plan. According to DJI's US Care Refresh page:
- You can extend an existing plan by buying a 1-Year Plan at the DJI Store within 15 days after the current service expires.
- DJI says you can extend up to three years.
- The 2-Year Plan isn't available as a renewal.
- The DJI Neo doesn't support Care Refresh renewal.
Check your plan dates in the DJI Store app; see check DJI Care status.
What both plans cover
Collisions, water damage, flyaways (for supported drones, with the drone bound to your account) and natural wear, with fast replacements through DJI Care Express. Neither covers damage you cause to other people or property; that's what liability insurance is for. See Care Refresh vs drone insurance.
Coverage, fees and eligibility are set by DJI and vary by model. Check DJI's Care Refresh page for your product.
