DJI Mavic 3 Classic LUT: D-Log M to Rec.709 color grading

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

For DJI Mavic 3 Classic D-Log M footage, use DJI's official "DJI Mavic 3 D-Log M to Rec.709 V1" LUT. For D-Log footage, use "DJI Mavic 3 D-Log to Rec.709 V1" (DJI also offers a more saturated "vivid" version). All are free .cube files on the Mavic 3 Classic downloads page, and they work in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

Mavic 3 Classic log profiles
The Mavic 3 Classic records both D-Log and D-Log M. Each needs its own DJI conversion LUT; using the wrong one gives wrong contrast and color.

D-Log or D-Log M?

The Mavic 3 Classic is one of the few DJI drones that records both log profiles, plus HLG and Normal. DJI added D-Log M in an April 2023 firmware update.

  • D-Log M is easier to grade, starts at ISO 100, and looks good with DJI's LUT and small tweaks. It's the better choice for most pilots.
  • D-Log is flatter and keeps the most latitude for heavy grading, but starts at ISO 400 and takes more work to look right.

Both are 10-bit profiles. Whichever you shoot, use the matching LUT. A D-Log M LUT on D-Log footage (or the reverse) gives the wrong contrast and color.

Where to get the LUTs

  1. Go to the Mavic 3 Classic downloads page.
  2. In the software section, find the Mavic 3 D-Log M and D-Log to Rec.709 LUTs.
  3. Download the .cube files. The "Mavic 3" LUTs cover the Mavic 3 Classic's Hasselblad camera.

How to apply the LUT

DaVinci Resolve

  1. Project Settings, Color Management, Lookup Tables, Open LUT Folder. Copy the files in and click Update Lists.
  2. Correct exposure and white balance on node 1.
  3. Apply the matching LUT on node 2 from the right-click LUT menu.

Premiere Pro

  1. In Lumetri Color, under Basic Correction, set Input LUT to Browse and pick the file.
  2. Adjust exposure and white balance.

Final Cut Pro

  1. Add the Custom LUT effect.
  2. In the Inspector, open the LUT menu, pick Choose Custom LUT, and select the file.

Tips for grading Mavic 3 Classic footage

  • Expose for the highlights. The Four Thirds sensor holds shadows well. Use the histogram and overexposure warning in DJI Fly.
  • Use the lowest ISO for your profile: 100 in D-Log M, 400 in D-Log. Use the adjustable aperture and ND filters to control light instead of raising ISO.
  • Lock white balance at a Kelvin value.
  • Correct before the LUT, not after.
  • Try the vivid D-Log LUT if the standard conversion looks too muted for your taste.

When to skip log

If you won't grade, shoot Normal. For HDR delivery to HDR screens, HLG is quicker than grading log.
