DJI Mini 5 Pro LUT: D-Log M to Rec.709 color grading

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

The LUT for DJI Mini 5 Pro footage is DJI's free "DJI Mini 5 Pro D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT," a .cube file on the Mini 5 Pro downloads page. It converts flat 10-bit D-Log M footage to normal Rec.709 contrast and color in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and most other editors. Apply it after you balance exposure and white balance, then add your own look on top.

A simple Rec.709 workflow for Mini 5 Pro log footage using DJI's free conversion LUT. Correct the log image before the LUT, not after.

What D-Log M is on the Mini 5 Pro

D-Log M is DJI's lighter log profile. It looks gray and flat straight out of the camera because it holds more highlight and shadow detail for grading.

  • Records 10-bit 4:2:0 in H.265.
  • ISO runs from 100 to 3200 (Normal color goes to 12800).
  • Available in slow motion too, with the same ISO cap.
  • Portrait optimization only works in Normal color, not in D-Log M or HLG.

Unlike older Mini drones, the Mini 5 Pro also records Normal color in 10-bit at 4K in H.265. If you don't want to grade, Normal color is a good choice and needs no LUT.

Download the official LUT

  1. Open the DJI Mini 5 Pro downloads page. DJI's US site may redirect; the same file is listed on DJI's regional sites.
  2. Find "DJI Mini 5 Pro D-Log M to Rec.709 LUT" in the software section.
  3. Download the .cube file. It's free.

Use the Mini 5 Pro file, not the Mini 4 Pro or Air 3S LUT. Each conversion LUT is matched to its camera.

How to apply it

DaVinci Resolve

  1. Project Settings, Color Management, Lookup Tables, Open LUT Folder. Copy the .cube file in and click Update Lists.
  2. On the Color page, set exposure and white balance on node 1.
  3. Add node 2, right-click it, and choose the LUT.

Premiere Pro

  1. Open Lumetri Color, Basic Correction.
  2. Set Input LUT to Browse and pick the file.
  3. Adjust exposure, contrast and white balance.

Final Cut Pro

  1. Add the Custom LUT effect to the clip.
  2. In the Inspector, choose Custom LUT and select the file.

More detail on each editor is in our DaVinci Resolve drone editing guide.

Exposing D-Log M correctly

  • ISO 100 in daylight. Raise it only when the shutter can't go slower.
  • Protect highlights. Clipped skies can't be recovered. Turn on the histogram and overexposure warning in DJI Fly.
  • Shutter at about double the frame rate, using ND filters in sun.
  • Manual white balance, so the LUT behaves the same on every clip.

Log footage that is too dark will look noisy after the LUT. Slightly bright is better than dark, as long as nothing clips.

HLG and Normal footage

DJI doesn't list a LUT for HLG. HLG is for HDR playback on compatible screens, or for a manual grade. Don't put the D-Log M LUT on Normal or HLG clips; it will look wrong.

When the LUT looks off

  • Too contrasty or orange: fix white balance before the LUT.
  • Blown highlights: lower exposure on the first node, not after the LUT.
  • Banding in skies: check the clip is 10-bit. D-Log M, HLG and Normal in H.265 are 10-bit; Normal 1080p in H.264 is 8-bit.
