How to transfer DJI Neo photos and videos to your phone or computer

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

To get DJI Neo footage onto your phone, power on the Neo, turn on your phone's Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location, open DJI Fly, and tap the QuickTransfer (or Wi-Fi Devices) card on the home screen. Pick your Neo, and the first time, press and hold its power button to confirm. Then download from the album. For a computer, connect the Neo with a USB-C data cable. It doesn't even need to be powered on.

DJI Neo transfer options
From DJI's Neo manual and FAQ. QuickTransfer falls to about 6 MB/s on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The Neo stores footage internally; it has no microSD slot.

QuickTransfer to your phone

  1. Power on the Neo (press, then press and hold the power button).
  2. On the phone, turn on Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location.
  3. In DJI Fly, either:
    • tap the QuickTransfer or Wi-Fi Devices card on the home screen, or
    • go to Album and tap the QuickTransfer icon at top right.
  4. First connection: press and hold the Neo's power button to approve the phone.
  5. Select clips and download them to your phone.

Already connected in Mobile App Control? Just open Album.

No Wi-Fi password is needed. See Neo Wi-Fi password.

Create a quick edit

For Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Helix and Boomerang clips, tap Create QuickShots in the album for an instant edit, or pick another template. If you recorded sound through the app, it merges into the video when you view or download it.

How fast is it?

DJI quotes up to 25 MB/s, measured in a lab where both 2.4 and 5.8 GHz are allowed. For the best speed, DJI says keep the Neo and phone within about 2 meters with nothing in between. If your phone can't use 5.8 GHz, or there's heavy interference, it drops to 6 MB/s on 2.4 GHz.

If the Neo gets warm while you browse, DJI Fly switches on ECO mode automatically. Follow the app prompt and let it cool.

To a computer

  1. Connect the Neo's USB-C port to the computer with a data cable. Charge-only cables won't show files.
  2. The Neo doesn't need to be powered on.
  3. Open the Neo's storage and copy the files.

The Neo records to internal storage only; it has no microSD slot. Copy files off regularly so you don't run out of space.

Neo won't connect to your phone?

  1. Turn on all three: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location.
  2. Grant DJI Fly location, Bluetooth and nearby-device permissions.
  3. Power off other devices connected to the Neo, such as the RC-N3 or goggles.
  4. Switched phones? Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the old phone first.
  5. Get closer and away from routers and Bluetooth speakers.
  6. Restart the Neo and DJI Fly, and update both.

Still not working? See Neo QuickTransfer not working or Neo not connecting. Computer doesn't see it? Try another data cable and USB port.
