The safest place to buy a DJI Air 3S in the US is an authorized DJI dealer, like us, or DJI's own store. You get a genuine US unit, full manufacturer warranty, and the option to add DJI Care Refresh at checkout. Big-box stores and Amazon can be fine when the seller is DJI or an authorized retailer. eBay and other marketplaces are cheaper but carry the most risk: grey-market imports, used units sold as new, and missing warranty.
The Air 3S is officially sold in the US
The Air 3S was FCC-authorized before the December 2025 Covered List decision, so it's legal to buy, own and fly, and it keeps getting updates. Stock and prices have moved because of import tariffs, so it isn't always on shelves. See Air 3S in the USA.
Your options
Authorized DJI dealer. Genuine DJI stock, US warranty, and help with setup and repairs. We sell the Air 3S for $1,209 (RC-N3, one battery) or $1,759 for the Fly More Combo with the DJI RC 2, three batteries, a charging hub, ND filters and a shoulder bag.
Best Buy and other big-box stores. Retail chains have carried DJI drones, but in-store stock of a specific model varies week to week, so searching "Air 3S near me" often turns up nothing on the shelf. Check the listing says it's sold by the store itself, not a third-party marketplace seller. We ship in-stock drones in 1 to 2 business days.
Amazon. Look at "Ships from" and "Sold by." DJI and authorized resellers sell there, but so do third parties. A listing sold by an unknown seller can be a grey-market unit without US warranty.
eBay and local listings. Good for used deals, risky for "new." Many listings are imports, opened returns or used drones.
Add Care Refresh at purchase
DJI Care Refresh is still offered in the US for the Air 3S. Buy it with the drone or within 48 hours of activation; after that, DJI may require a video inspection. We sell Care Refresh 1-Year for the Air 3S for $164. Details: DJI Care Refresh.
If you buy used
- Ask the seller to unbind the drone from their DJI account. See unbind a DJI account.
- Check the serial numbers on the drone, controller and batteries. See find your DJI serial number.
- Ask for battery cycle counts and check for swelling.
- Watch a test flight, including a gimbal check and return-to-home.
- Remember the drone weighs 724 g, so you'll need to register it with the FAA under your own name.
Red flags
- A new Air 3S priced far below normal.
- Sellers who want payment by gift card, wire or crypto.
- Listings with stock photos only and no serial number.
- "International version" in the title.
