Buy the DJI Flip from an authorized DJI dealer or DJI's own store for a genuine US unit with full warranty. Best Buy and Amazon are fine when DJI or an authorized retailer is the seller, so check the "sold by" line. eBay and marketplace listings are the cheapest, and also where you'll find used drones, imports and scams. The Flip is officially sold in the US and legal to fly.

The Fly More Combo's DJI RC 2 has a built-in screen, so you don't need your phone. If you plan to fly more than once a day, the extra batteries alone make it worth it. A spare Flip battery is $109.
Your buying options
Authorized DJI dealer. We sell the DJI Flip new, with US warranty, and ship in-stock orders in 1 to 2 business days. If you searched "DJI Flip near me," this is usually faster than hunting store shelves.
Best Buy and other big-box stores. Stock varies by store and week. Make sure it's sold by the retailer, not a marketplace partner, and compare the exact kit.
Amazon. Look at "Ships from" and "Sold by." DJI and authorized resellers list there, but so do third parties selling imported units.
eBay. Fine for used Flips if you inspect them. Be wary of "new" units far below normal price.
Care Refresh
DJI Care Refresh covers accidental damage, including crashes and water. For drones, DJI requires you to buy it within 48 hours of activation, or a video verification may be needed. Check eligibility for the Flip when you buy. See DJI Care Refresh.
Checking a used Flip
- The folding propeller guards are part of the frame. Look for cracks and bent arms.
- Make sure the seller unbinds it from their DJI account. See unbind a DJI account.
- Check the gimbal moves freely and the camera image is clean.
- Ask for battery cycle counts.
- Check the serial number matches the box and receipt.
Rules
The Flip weighs under 250 g, so recreational pilots don't register it. You still need the free TRUST test. Flying for any business needs Part 107 and registration. See Flip in the USA.
