The DJI Avata 2 has no QuickShots, MasterShots or other automated filming modes like Dronie or Circle. It's built for hands-on FPV flying instead. What it offers in their place is Easy ACRO for one-push flips, rolls and drifts, Head Tracking, and template edits in the DJI Fly app. To change flight modes, press the mode button on the RC Motion 3 to switch between Normal and Sport; Manual mode needs the FPV Remote Controller 3.

What the Avata 2 has instead of QuickShots
| Feature | What it does | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Easy ACRO | Flip, roll, 180° Drift, Slide, Power Loop | RC Motion 3, Normal mode |
| Head Tracking | Turn your head to turn the drone and tilt the camera | Goggles on |
| DJI Fly Templates | Automatic edits set to music | DJI Fly app on your phone |
| Turtle mode | Flips the drone upright after a crash | Goggles menu |
DJI's LightCut app also offered one-tap edits for the Avata 2, but DJI says updates and maintenance for LightCut ended in September 2026 and points users to DJI Fly or DJI Mimo.
None of these fly a preset shot around a subject. DJI's manual and FAQ list no QuickShots, MasterShots, ActiveTrack or Hyperlapse for the Avata 2. If you want automated shots of yourself, look at the DJI Neo or Flip. See Avata 2 ActiveTrack and Avata 2 vs Neo.
How to use Easy ACRO
- Climb to at least 1.5 m in an open space.
- Open the shortcut menu in the goggles and select Easy ACRO.
- Turn the dial on the RC Motion 3 to choose the action.
- Push the joystick in the direction of the move.
DJI blocks Easy ACRO while recording, with Head Tracking on, in Sport mode, below 25% battery, in winds over 10 m/s, or with weak GNSS. Enable it before you press record. Full steps in Avata 2 flips.
How to change flight modes
Normal and Sport (RC Motion 3): press the mode button once to switch. Sport mode raises the top speed from 8 m/s to 16 m/s; the controls work the same way. Press and hold the same button to start Return to Home.
Normal, Sport and Manual (FPV Remote Controller 3): use the N/S/M switch on the controller. The M position only becomes Manual after you set it in the goggles under Settings > Control > Remote Controller > Button Customization > Custom Mode. Manual has no self-leveling, no auto-brake and no hovering. The RC Motion 3 can't fly in Manual mode. See Avata 2 manual mode.
Beginner mode: on the first flight the drone is limited to 1 m/s. Turn it off in the goggles under Settings > Control > Beginner Mode once you're comfortable.
Camera modes and views
These aren't QuickShots, but they change what you capture:
- Video, photo and slow motion (4K/100fps) from the goggles camera menu.
- Field of view: Normal, Wide or Ultra-wide.
- Stabilization: RockSteady (default), HorizonSteady or Off. Set it under Settings > Camera > EIS. Turn it off and use Wide for Gyroflow.
- Color: Standard or 10-bit D-Log M.
See Avata 2 best settings for starting values.
Why no automated modes?
The Avata 2 has downward and backward vision only, with no forward obstacle sensing. Automated shots that fly a path around a subject depend on the drone seeing what's ahead, so DJI left them out and focused on pilot-controlled flight.
