DJI Fly doesn't have a simple language menu of its own on most devices. It shows its text in the language of the device it's running on. To change it, change your phone's language (or the app's language in your phone's settings), or on a screen controller like the DJI RC 2, change the controller's system language. Then close and reopen DJI Fly.

On an iPhone or iPad
You can change just DJI Fly's language without changing the whole phone:
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Find DJI Fly in the list of apps (on recent iOS versions, under Apps).
- Tap Language and choose the one you want. Apple only shows this option when the app supports more than one language and you have more than one language added to your phone.
- Reopen DJI Fly.
If there's no Language option, change the phone's language under Settings > General > Language & Region. DJI Fly will follow it if it supports that language.
On an Android phone
- On Android 13 or later, open Settings > System > Languages > App languages. If DJI Fly appears there, pick its language.
- If it doesn't, change the phone's language under Settings > System > Languages, and move your preferred language to the top.
- Force-stop DJI Fly and reopen it.
Menu names vary by phone maker, so search Settings for "language" if you can't find it.
On a DJI RC, RC 2 or RC Pro
DJI's screen controllers run DJI Fly on their own Android-based system, so the app uses the controller's language.
- Swipe down from the top of the controller screen to open the shortcut menu.
- Tap the gear icon to open the controller's system settings.
- Find the language setting and choose your language.
- Return to DJI Fly.
Owners report that the first-time setup screen on some controllers asks you to choose a language before anything else. Choose carefully there. If you picked the wrong one, you can change it later through the same system settings. If you can't read the menus, use your phone's camera translation to find the settings icon and language option. The layout and order of items stay the same in every language.
Some screens still show Chinese
Pilots sometimes report that a few screens, such as GEO zone or map text, appear in Chinese while the rest of DJI Fly is in English. Try these in order:
- Update DJI Fly to the latest version. On Android, download it from DJI's site. See DJI Fly app guide.
- Update the controller and drone firmware in DJI Fly.
- Clear the app cache or reinstall DJI Fly. See clear DJI Fly app storage.
- Check your region settings. A mismatched region or a mix of languages on the phone can confuse some screens.
Units are a separate setting
Language and units aren't linked. Switching the app to English won't change meters to feet. Units (metric or imperial) are set inside DJI Fly's own settings, so check them after you change the language.
Voice features follow the phone too
DJI says the DJI Neo's voice control supports English and Mandarin and uses the connected phone's system language. If voice control isn't responding, check the phone's language first. See Neo app.
