DJI Fly runs on iPhones and iPads with iOS 13.0 or later and on Android phones with Android 9.0 or later, according to DJI's download page in October 2026. DJI recommends an iPhone 11 or newer, or a mainstream flagship Android phone released after 2019. The current version is v1.21.12, released September 22, 2026.

iPhones DJI has tested
DJI's download page lists these as tested and recommended:
- iPhone 17 Pro Max, 17 Pro, 17 and 16E
- iPhone 16 Pro Max, 16 Pro, 16 Plus and 16
- iPhone 15 and 14 series (all models)
- iPhone 13 Pro Max, 13 Pro, 13 and 13 mini
- iPhone 12 series and iPhone 11 series
Install DJI Fly from the App Store. iPhones older than the iPhone 11 may install it but aren't on DJI's list.
Android phones DJI has tested
DJI's list includes the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra through S25 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy A53 and A54, Google Pixel 8 Pro and 9 Pro, OnePlus Nord CE 3, and many Xiaomi, Redmi, Huawei, Honor, OPPO and vivo models. DJI Fly for Android isn't on Google Play in the US. Download the APK from DJI's site; see install DJI Fly on Android.
Is my phone compatible if it isn't listed?
Probably, if it meets the OS minimum. DJI says it can't test every phone, that unlisted devices that meet the system requirements should work in theory, and that it can't guarantee stable performance on them. For smooth live video, pick a recent phone with plenty of free storage. DJI's crash fix advice asks for at least 10 GB free.
Tablets and iPads
DJI Fly installs on iPads from the App Store, but a tablet won't fit most controllers. DJI's Mini 4 Pro manual gives the RC-N2's maximum phone size as 180 x 86 x 10 mm, which is phone-sized. To use a tablet you'd need a third-party mount, and you'd still connect it by cable. If you want a big, bright screen, a controller with a built-in display is simpler:
- DJI RC 2: DJI Fly preinstalled, no phone needed
- DJI RC-N3: uses your phone

New iOS versions
DJI updates DJI Fly regularly, and the App Store build is what you should run. Before you install a major iOS update in the middle of a trip, check that DJI Fly opens and connects at home first. If it crashes after an update, see DJI Fly app crashing.
DJI GO 4 requirements
DJI GO 4 is the older app for the Mavic 2, Mavic Pro, Mavic Air, Spark and Phantom 4 series. DJI's download page lists iOS 10.0 or later and Android 5.0 or later, and its tested device list stops around 2018 phones. Newer phones often run it, but DJI no longer lists them. Current DJI drones like the Mini 4 Pro, Mini 5 Pro, Air 3S, Neo and Flip use DJI Fly, not GO 4.
Which app does my drone use?
DJI Fly supports the Mini series (Mini 2 through Mini 5 Pro), Air 3 and Air 3S, Air 2S and Mavic Air 2, Mavic 3 series and Mavic 4 Pro, Avata and Avata 2, Neo and Flip. Setup steps for each model are in pages like Mini 4 Pro app, and a tour of the app is in our DJI Fly app guide.
