No. DJI Fly is a mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and it comes preinstalled on screen controllers like the DJI RC 2. DJI's Download Center has no Windows, Mac or Linux version, and there's no official "DJI Fly .exe." To fly, you need a phone in an RC-N controller, a screen controller, or goggles. A computer is still useful for firmware updates, file transfers and editing.

What DJI does offer for computers
| Software | Platforms | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) | Windows, macOS | Firmware updates, flight log export |
| DJI Studio | Windows, macOS | Editing Osmo 360 footage |
| DJI Fly | iOS, Android only | Flying, camera control, editing |
In October 2026, DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) is version 2.1.42 (September 22, 2026). It covers DJI Fly drones from the Mini 2 to the Mini 5 Pro, Air 3S, Mavic 4 Pro, Neo, Flip and Avata 2. Download it from the drone's page in DJI's Download Center.
Installing DJI Assistant 2 on a Mac
DJI's macOS guide says the installer may be blocked the first time. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security (older macOS: Security & Privacy), click Open Anyway, then run the installer. It also installs the HoRNDIS USB driver, which DJI says is needed for firmware updates and flight data export. Enter your password when asked and restart the Mac.
Get your footage onto a computer
You don't need any app for this:
- USB-C cable: connect the drone to the computer and copy files from the microSD card or internal storage folders.
- Card reader: remove the microSD card and copy from a reader. Usually the fastest.
- Phone first: use QuickTransfer to your phone, then AirDrop or sync to the computer.
Details for every model: transfer photos from a DJI drone.
Watch the live view on a computer
DJI Fly has a livestream option in its Transmission settings that can broadcast the camera view to a streaming platform, which you can then watch on any computer. FPV pilots can also capture video from DJI goggles; see stream DJI Avata 2 to a PC.
Practice flying on a PC
DJI's own Virtual Flight app stopped receiving maintenance in March 2024. For desktop practice, use a third-party simulator with a USB controller. See how to practice drone flying on a PC.
What about Android emulators or Apple silicon Macs?
DJI doesn't list emulators or computers as supported devices for DJI Fly. Even if the app opens, flying needs a stable, direct link to the controller, and an unsupported setup is a poor place to discover a dropped connection. Use a supported phone or a screen controller.
The simplest no-phone option
If the real goal is to avoid your phone, the DJI RC 2 has DJI Fly built in with a 5.5-inch screen. Compare it with the RC-N3 in DJI RC 2 vs RC-N3, or check phone requirements in DJI Fly compatible phones.
