To turn on noise cancelling on the DJI Mic Mini, press the transmitter's power button once. The yellow noise cancellation LED on the transmitter lights when it's on; press again to turn it off. The level, Basic or Strong, is set in the DJI Mimo app when you use the Mic Mini receiver. With a phone over Bluetooth it's fixed at Strong, and with an Osmo Pocket 3 or Osmo Action camera you set it on the camera.

Turn it on or off
- Power on the transmitter (hold the power button two seconds).
- Press the power button once to enable noise cancelling.
- The transmitter's noise cancellation LED turns solid yellow. On the receiver, the matching transmitter status LED also shows solid yellow.
- Press once more to turn it off. The LED goes off.
There's no separate noise cancelling button: it's a short press of the power button. A long press turns the transmitter off.
Choose Basic or Strong
Connect the Mic Mini to DJI Mimo and open its device page to choose:
- Basic: light cleanup for steady background sounds like fans and air conditioning. Voices stay more natural.
- Strong: heavier reduction for traffic, crowds and wind. Voices can sound more processed.
How to connect to DJI Mimo: see Mic Mini firmware and app.
Where it's controlled
| Connection | How noise cancelling works |
|---|---|
| Mic Mini receiver | Power button toggles; level in DJI Mimo |
| Phone over Bluetooth | Fixed at Strong; can't change in Mimo |
| Osmo Pocket 3, Action 4, Action 5 Pro | Set on the camera |
| DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver | Switch on receiver: Off, Basic, Strong |
With the Mobile Receiver, DJI says levels can't be changed from the transmitter or Mimo once paired; use the switch.
Noise cancelling not working?
- No yellow LED: you may be holding the button too long. Use a single short press.
- Can't change the level: you're probably on Bluetooth to a phone (fixed Strong), on an Osmo camera (set it there) or on the Mobile Receiver (use its switch).
- Still noisy: noise cancelling reduces steady background noise. It won't remove wind gusts or a loud nearby voice. Add the windscreen, move the mic closer to the mouth, and turn on low cut in DJI Mimo.
- Voice sounds robotic or thin: switch from Strong to Basic, or turn it off in quiet rooms.
- Old firmware: update in DJI Mimo. See Mic Mini firmware update.
Tips for cleaner audio
- Placement first: clip the transmitter on the collar, 15 to 20 cm from the mouth.
- Lower camera gain, raise receiver gain.
- Use Basic by default and Strong only when needed.
- Record 10 seconds and listen on headphones before the real take.
