No. Neither the DJI Mic 2 nor the DJI Mic Mini is waterproof, and DJI doesn't list an IP or water resistance rating for the transmitters, receivers or charging cases. Treat them like any small electronic device: keep them out of rain and splashes, don't let sweat soak them, and never take them in the water. If you need audio in wet conditions, protect the transmitter or use a mic built for it.

What DJI's specs say
| DJI Mic 2 | DJI Mic Mini | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance rating | None listed | None listed |
| Operating temperature | -10 to 45 °C (14 to 113 °F) | -10 to 45 °C (14 to 113 °F) |
| Charging temperature | 5 to 45 °C (41 to 113 °F) | 5 to 45 °C (41 to 113 °F) |
DJI's FAQs for both mics don't mention water use at all. Newer DJI mic models may differ; check the spec sheet on dji.com before assuming any model is water resistant. For the Mic Mini 2, see is DJI Mic Mini 2 available in the US.
Rain, sweat and outdoor use
- Light drizzle: a windscreen sheds a little water but isn't a seal. Keep shoots short and wipe the mic dry.
- Rain: put the transmitter under a jacket collar or use a wired lav (Mic 2) with the transmitter in a pocket out of the rain. See Mic 2 accessories.
- Sweat: for workouts or hot days, clip the transmitter on top of clothing, not against skin, and wipe it after use.
- Beach and boats: salt spray and sand are worse than fresh water. Use windscreens, store the kit in its case, and keep the case in a dry bag.
- Cold: both are rated down to -10 °C (14 °F). Batteries drain faster in the cold, so keep spares warm.
If a mic gets wet
- Power it off right away.
- Don't charge it or put it in the charging case while wet. The charging pins are exposed.
- Wipe it dry and remove the windscreen.
- Let it dry fully at room temperature. Don't use a hair dryer or oven.
- Test it only when you're sure it's dry.
If it won't power on, crackles or won't charge after drying, contact DJI support or start a repair. Water damage usually isn't covered by the standard warranty.
Need a camera that can get wet?
The Osmo Action 5 Pro is waterproof to 20 m without a case. For water sports, its built-in mics or a mic with its own water protection make more sense than a clip-on wireless mic. See Mic with action cameras.
