DJI Mic Mini battery life and charging case

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

DJI Mic Mini runs about 11.5 hours per transmitter and 10.5 hours for the receiver, and the charging case recharges both transmitters and the receiver about 3.6 times, for up to about 48 hours in total. Transmitters take about 90 minutes to charge and the receiver about 100 minutes. You can tell they're fully charged when the status LED stops blinking and turns off.

DJI's figures, tested with one transmitter and the receiver, noise cancelling off, at close range. The case recharges two transmitters and the receiver about 3.6 times.

Battery specs

Transmitter Receiver Charging case
Battery 114 mAh 170 mAh 1950 mAh
Runtime About 11.5 h About 10.5 h About 3.6 recharges
Charge time About 90 min About 100 min About 2 h

DJI tested runtime with one transmitter and one receiver, noise cancelling off, at close range without interference, and the receiver connected to a camera by 3.5 mm cable. Noise cancelling, distance and cold weather all shorten it.

How to charge

  • Charging case: place the transmitters and receiver in it. They charge together and power on when you take them out. When the case runs low, charge it with the USB-C cable.
  • Charger: DJI recommends a 5 V/2 A (max) USB charger. The case accepts 5 V, 1.5 to 2 A.
  • Charging dock: kits without a case include a dock. Attach the transmitter to it and connect the supplied cable to charge the transmitter and receiver.
  • Temperature: charge the mics between 5 and 45 °C (41 to 113 °F), and the case between 5 and 40 °C.

How to check the battery

Transmitter and receiver LEDs while in use: solid red means 0 to 10%. Green (or blue in Bluetooth mode) means more than 10%.

While charging: the status LED blinks once (0–25%), twice (26–50%), three times (51–75%) or four times (76–100%). When it's fully charged, the LED turns off.

Charging case LEDs: four LEDs on the front show the case's charge, from under 10% to 76–100%. While the case charges, they blink in sequence.

DJI Mimo app: connect the mic to DJI Mimo to see the battery level of connected devices. See Mic Mini firmware and app.

Make it last longer

  • Auto shutdown: set a 15-minute auto off for each device in DJI Mimo.
  • Power-saving: transmitters drop into power-saving when they lose the receiver's signal and wake when it returns.
  • Camera sync: with a 3.5 mm cable, turn on auto power on/off with the camera in DJI Mimo so the receiver follows the camera.
  • Charge the phone through the receiver: with the phone adapter attached, a charger on the receiver's USB-C port charges both.
  • Storage: DJI recommends a full charge at least once every three months to keep the batteries healthy.

Mic Mini vs Mic 2 battery

Mic Mini Mic 2
Per transmitter 11.5 h 6 h
Receiver 10.5 h 6 h
Total with case About 48 h About 18 h

The Mic Mini lasts longer partly because it has no internal recording or screen. See Mic 2 battery life.
