Record audio with your video
The Flip can record sound through the app. In the DJI Fly camera view, open settings, then Camera, turn on app recording and choose noise reduction. Supported sources include the phone's microphone, a DJI Mic 2 and Bluetooth earbuds. Turn it on before you start recording, and don't lock the phone or switch apps while filming. Audio merges into the video when you view or download it in DJI Fly. See Flip audio.
Hands-free shooting
- Palm control Smart Snaps (Follow, Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight and more) record automatically after takeoff from your hand.
- QuickShots and MasterShots fly a preset path and record on their own.
- FocusTrack follows people, but doesn't record automatically; press record yourself.
- Hyperlapse takes timed photos and builds a short video.
Tips for better footage
- Shoot in Normal or Cine mode for smooth moves. DJI recommends Normal or Cine for photos and video.
- Choose Follow gimbal mode for a level horizon.
- Check settings after every firmware update. DJI notes Flip updates reset camera settings.
- Use ND filters for natural motion blur on bright days.
