DJI Mavic 3 Classic batteries and chargers: what to buy

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic uses the DJI Mavic 3 Series Intelligent Flight Battery: 5000 mAh, 15.4 V, 77 Wh, rated for up to 46 minutes of flight in the Classic. We sell it for $175. It charges in about 96 minutes with DJI's 65W Portable Charger, or about 70 minutes with DJI's 100W USB-C Power Adapter and the Mavic 3 Series 100W Battery Charging Hub ($98), which charges three batteries in sequence.

Mavic 3 Classic battery charge times
DJI figures for one Mavic 3 series battery from empty. The hub charges batteries one after another, so three take about three times as long (our estimate).

The battery

Spec Mavic 3 Series Intelligent Flight Battery
Capacity 5000 mAh
Voltage 15.4 V (4S Li-ion)
Energy 77 Wh
Weight 335.5 g
Charging temperature 5 to 40°C (41 to 104°F)
Flight time (Classic) up to 46 min rated
Our price $175

The same battery fits the Mavic 3 Pro, where it's rated for 43 minutes. Older "DJI Mavic 3 Intelligent Flight Battery" packs are listed by DJI as compatible with the Classic. See the battery.

Chargers and hubs

Option What it does Time per battery
DJI 65W Portable Charger In the standard kit; charges a battery in the drone or hub about 96 min
100W Battery Charging Hub + DJI 100W USB-C Power Adapter Holds three batteries, charges them in sequence about 70 min
DJI 65W Car Charger Charges from a 12 V car outlet, same 65 W output similar to 65W charger

The 70-minute figure is from DJI's Mavic 3 Pro specs, which use the same battery and hub. The hub needs a strong USB-C power source; DJI recommends its own chargers, or other PD/PPS chargers of 60 W or more. You can also charge a battery inside the drone through its USB-C port.

How many batteries?

  • One battery: fine for a quick look around, not for a shoot.
  • Three batteries: the sweet spot, about 138 rated minutes, or roughly 110 to 115 minutes of real flying. The Fly More Combo includes three plus the 100W hub.
  • Four or more: for weddings, real estate days and long hikes, paired with a car charger.

Battery care, from DJI's manual

  • The battery discharges itself to 96% after 3 days idle and to 60% after 9 days, to prevent swelling. It's normal for it to feel warm while doing this.
  • Charge every battery fully at least once every three months. DJI says a battery left uncharged and undischarged for three months or more is no longer covered by warranty.
  • Charging only works between 5 and 40°C.
  • DJI rates the battery for 200 cycles and doesn't recommend using it beyond that.
  • For transport, DJI suggests discharging to 30% or lower.
  • A battery below 5% that sits for six hours goes into hibernation. Charge it to wake it.

Flying with spare batteries

At 77 Wh, each battery is under the 100 Wh limit, so no airline approval is needed. Spares go in carry-on only with the terminals protected. See traveling with a drone.

Avoid third-party batteries

DJI's manual says it isn't responsible for damage from third-party chargers, and DJI Care Refresh excludes damage from unauthorized accessories. Stick with genuine batteries.

Need more flight time? Add a Mavic 3 Series battery or the 100W hub to your Mavic 3 Classic.
