Yes. The DJI Mavic 3 Classic is legal to buy, own and fly in the United States. In December 2025 the FCC added foreign-made drones, including DJI, to its Covered List, which stops new models from getting FCC authorization. The Mavic 3 Classic was authorized years before that, so it stays legal to sell and use. We sell it from $1,407.

What the FCC decision means for the Classic
- Buying: legal from US retailers, including authorized dealers like us.
- Flying: legal under normal FAA rules. It's on the FAA's list of drones with declared Standard Remote ID, so it's ready for both recreational and Part 107 flying once registered.
- Updates: in May 2026 the FCC extended permission for firmware and software updates to already-authorized drones until January 1, 2029. DJI released Classic firmware as recently as July 2026, and its spec page lists guaranteed software updates until December 31, 2026.
- New models: future DJI drones that need new FCC authorization can't get it while the decision stands.
Since September 3, 2026, imported drones also carry a Section 232 tariff, which affects pricing across the market. For the full picture, read is DJI banned in the US. We don't speculate on future rule changes.

Is it still worth buying in 2026?
The Classic launched in 2022, and newer models have arrived since. It still offers a 4/3 Hasselblad camera, 46 minutes of rated flight and omnidirectional sensing. The trade-offs: one camera, digital zoom only, and older O3+ controllers. Our take is in Mavic 3 Classic worth it.
