A DJI Mavic 3 Pro battery that won't charge is usually in hibernation, too hot or cold, or connected to a charger that can't supply enough power. Put the battery in the drone, leave the drone powered off, and connect the DJI 65W charger or a 100W USB PD adapter at room temperature. Once it charges, power on with one short press, then press again and hold for two seconds.

Power on correctly
The Mavic 3 Pro battery uses a two-step press: press once, then press again and hold for two seconds. A single short press only shows the battery level. Take the storage cover off before you power on so the gimbal can run its startup check.
Battery not charging
- Charge with the drone off. DJI's method is to attach the aircraft to the charger with the battery installed and powered off. The LEDs show the level while it charges.
- Know what "full" looks like. When charging on the aircraft, the battery is full when all of its level LEDs go off. Many owners mistake that for a dead battery.
- Wake it from hibernation. If the battery sits below 5% for six hours it hibernates, and the LEDs stay dark when you press the button. New batteries also ship in hibernation. Connecting the charger wakes it.
- Use enough power. DJI quotes about 1 hour 36 minutes with the DJI 65W Portable Charger and about 1 hour 20 minutes with the DJI 100W USB-C Power Adapter. A phone charger may not charge it at all.
- Check the temperature. Charging stops if the cells are outside 5° to 40° C (41° to 104° F). DJI says not to charge right after a flight. Let it cool to room temperature first.
- Read the protection LEDs. While charging, LED2 blinking means overcurrent or a short circuit, LED3 means overcharge or an over-voltage charger, and LED4 means the charging temperature is too low or too high. Unplug and replug the charger to clear an electrical fault. Temperature faults clear on their own once the battery is back in range.
Charging hub not charging
The Mavic 3 Series 100W Battery Charging Hub charges up to three batteries in sequence, starting with the fullest one, so a battery may simply be waiting its turn. With the DJI 100W USB-C Power Adapter, each battery takes about 1 hour 10 minutes.
| Hub LED | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Solid yellow | No battery inserted |
| Pulses green | Charging |
| Solid green | All batteries full |
| Blinks yellow | Batteries too hot or cold, no action needed |
| Solid red | Power or battery error: reseat batteries or replug the charger |
DJI RC won't turn on
Charge the DJI RC over USB-C. DJI says it fully charges in about 1 hour 30 minutes at up to 15 W (5V/3A). Then press once, and press again and hold. More help is in DJI controller won't turn on.
Batteries left in a drawer
Charge each battery fully at least once every three months. DJI's manual states that a battery not charged or discharged for three months or more is no longer covered by warranty. For storage habits that prevent this, see drone battery care.
When it's not the battery
If a charged, known-good Mavic 3 battery won't start the aircraft, the fault is in the drone. Stop using any battery that is swollen, cracked or warm while idle: read swollen drone battery. Then contact DJI or start a repair. General charging help is in DJI battery not charging.
