No, the Osmo Pocket 3 can't output HDMI. It has no HDMI port, and DJI's FAQ says the USB-C port can't export real-time footage over an HDMI cable, so a USB-C to HDMI adapter won't drive a monitor. To get its live picture into OBS, vMix, Zoom or a capture workflow, use webcam mode over USB-C. For a bigger preview while you shoot, use the DJI Mimo app on your phone.

Into OBS or vMix: use webcam mode
- Power on the Pocket 3 and connect it to your computer with a USB-C cable.
- On the camera's pop-up, tap Webcam. The screen shows "Webcam" at the bottom.
- In OBS, add a Video Capture Device source and pick the Pocket 3. In vMix, add it as a camera input.
- Swipe left from the right edge of the camera screen to adjust exposure, white balance and focus mode.
The Pocket 3 is a standard USB webcam, so it shows up in most video apps with no driver. Full steps: use a DJI Osmo as a webcam.
On an external monitor
- Phone or tablet as a monitor: connect to DJI Mimo. You get the live view, recording controls, a virtual joystick for pan and tilt, and pinch zoom. Good for framing an interview.
- Computer monitor: use webcam mode and show the feed full screen in OBS or the camera app.
- HDMI field monitor or switcher: not possible directly. Route it through a computer: Pocket 3 webcam into OBS, then out of the computer's HDMI port to the monitor or switcher.
Using it as a "camera" on a shoot
With a computer in the chain, you can record the Pocket 3 in OBS while it also records internally. Each recording is separate. For multicam interviews, a common setup is the Pocket 3 recording to its own card and syncing in the edit. DJI's settings let you set Timecode or sync it with the system time, and the camera's timecode can be synced by a timecode device through the USB-C port. See Osmo Pocket 3 interview setup.
Live streaming
Want to stream without a computer? DJI Mimo supports YouTube and RTMP livestreams from the Pocket 3, and the camera has Continue Last Livestream in its settings. See live stream with DJI Osmo and drones.
Webcam tips
- Heat: for long calls in a warm room, give it airflow. See Osmo Pocket 3 overheating.
- Audio: pick the Pocket 3 (or a DJI Mic 2 receiver) as the mic in your app, and check levels before going live.
- Not detected? Use a data cable, try another port, and close other apps using the camera. See Osmo Pocket 3 not recognized on computer.
Need true HDMI out?
If clean HDMI to a monitor or switcher is a must, you need a camera with an HDMI port. For a pocket gimbal camera that streams and works as a webcam, the Pocket 3 is still one of the easiest options. Compare in Osmo Pocket 3 alternatives.
