How to transfer Osmo Pocket 3 videos to iPhone, Android or Mac

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

To get Osmo Pocket 3 videos onto a phone, connect the camera to the DJI Mimo app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, open the album and download the clips. For a Mac or PC, connect the Pocket 3 with a USB-C cable, then tap Transfer File/OTG Connection on the camera's pop-up. For big batches, put the microSD card in a card reader. On Android phones that support OTG, you can also plug the camera straight into the phone.

Osmo Pocket 3 transfer methods
From DJI's Osmo Pocket 3 manual and FAQ. Over USB-C, choose Transfer File/OTG Connection on the camera's pop-up; Cancel only charges it.

To an iPhone or Android with DJI Mimo

  1. Install DJI Mimo and turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the phone.
  2. Power on the Pocket 3 (rotate the screen clockwise or press the shutter/record button).
  3. In DJI Mimo, tap the Device connect button and follow the prompts.
  4. Open Album (or Playback), select the clips, and download.
  5. Edit or share from Mimo, or find the files in your phone's library.

Mimo is also where you apply Glamour Effects after shooting. DJI notes some phones can only export 1080p/30fps when processing those effects.

To a Mac or Windows PC by USB-C

  1. Power on the Pocket 3 and connect it to the computer with a USB-C data cable.
  2. On the camera's pop-up, tap Transfer File/OTG Connection. (Tap Cancel to only charge.)
  3. On a Mac, open the camera in Finder or Image Capture; on Windows, in File Explorer.
  4. Copy the video files to your computer (they are usually in the DCIM folder).

The camera can't record while it's transferring. If the transfer stops, unplug and reconnect.

Android OTG

Connect the camera to an OTG-capable Android phone with the included Type-C to Type-C PD cable. Browse and copy files in the phone's gallery or file manager. If it isn't detected, swipe down on the camera, open Settings > OTG Connection, and connect again.

microSD card reader

Turn off the camera, push the card in gently to eject it, and insert it into a card reader. This is the fastest way to move hours of 4K.

What are LRF files?

Next to each MP4 you'll often see a .LRF file with the same name. These are small, low-resolution preview copies used for quick playback in the app. Your full-quality video is the MP4. You can leave LRF files out when copying to an editor.

Export settings and editing

  • Video Compression: in the camera's settings, Efficiency (HEVC) is the default and makes smaller files. Compatibility (H.264) plays on more older computers and editors.
  • Shooting D-Log M? You'll need to color grade. See Osmo Pocket 3 D-Log M.

Videos not showing?

  1. Choose Transfer File on the pop-up, not Cancel.
  2. Try a data cable and another USB port. Charge-only cables won't show files.
  3. HEVC won't play? Install your system's HEVC support, or switch the camera to H.264 for future clips.
  4. Mimo won't connect? Turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off and on, update Mimo and the firmware, and reset the Wi-Fi connection in the camera's Settings > Wireless Connection.

More fixes: Osmo Pocket 3 not recognized on computer and Osmo Pocket 3 not connecting to phone.
