An Osmo Pocket 3 that isn't recognized by a computer is usually only charging. When you plug it in, the camera shows a pop-up: tap Transfer File/OTG Connection to copy files, or Webcam to use it as a camera in OBS, Zoom or Teams. If you tapped Cancel or missed the prompt, unplug and reconnect with a data-capable USB-C cable.

Not showing up as a drive
From DJI's manual: power on the Pocket 3, connect it with a USB-C cable, and tap Transfer File/OTG Connection on the pop-up. The camera can't record while transferring. Cancel only charges it.
If the computer still doesn't see it:
- Use a data cable. Many USB-C cables are charge-only. The included Type-C to Type-C PD cable carries data.
- Plug into the computer directly, not a hub or monitor port. Try another port.
- Remove the handle. If the battery handle or 1/4" handle is mounted, take it off and plug straight into the camera's own USB-C port.
- Check for a card. The Pocket 3 has no built-in storage; files are on the microSD card. No card, nothing to show.
- Mac: look in Finder's sidebar or Image Capture. Windows: look under This PC; if Device Manager shows an error, uninstall that device, unplug, and reconnect.
- Card reader. If all else fails, pull the microSD card and use a reader.
Not showing in OBS (or Zoom, Teams)
- Connect the Pocket 3 and tap Webcam on its screen. The screen shows "Webcam" at the bottom.
- In OBS, add a Video Capture Device source and pick the Pocket 3.
- Close other apps that might be using the camera. Only one app can use a webcam at a time on most systems.
- Set the resolution in OBS. DJI's May 2024 firmware added 4K UVC at 3840×2160 25/30p, and DJI says to set the source resolution in your streaming software first. 4K needs a fast computer and a good cable; drop to 1080p if the feed stutters.
- Update the Pocket 3 firmware if 4K or D-Log M webcam options are missing. DJI added D-Log M in webcam mode in a later update.
On macOS, give OBS camera permission in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
"Unable to join network" or "no device found"
These are DJI Mimo or LightCut messages on your phone, not computer errors. They mean the phone couldn't join the Pocket 3's Wi-Fi. DJI's fixes: turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on, restart the camera and app, toggle your phone's Wi-Fi, and switch the Pocket 3 to 2.4GHz under Settings > Wireless Connection > Wi-Fi Frequency if your phone can't use 5.8 GHz. Full steps: Pocket 3 not connecting to phone.
HDMI doesn't work either
DJI's FAQ says the Pocket 3's USB-C port can't output live video over HDMI. Use webcam mode for live feeds. See Pocket 3 HDMI and external monitors.
Still not recognized
Try a different computer. If no computer sees it with a known data cable, and the camera doesn't show the USB pop-up at all, the port may be damaged or blocked. DJI suggests clearing debris from USB-C ports with an air blower or soft brush, sweeping from the inside out. Then start a repair if needed.
