The best DJI Air 3 upgrades are a second (and third) battery, the Air 3 Series charging hub, spare propellers, and a microSD card from DJI's recommended list. After that, a screen controller like the DJI RC 2, a propeller guard for close work, and ND filters for video are the add-ons worth paying for.

1. Extra batteries
One battery gives you about 46 rated minutes, which is less once you keep a safe reserve. Two or three batteries turn a short session into a real shoot. The DJI Air 3S Intelligent Flight Battery fits the Air 3, and DJI lists the Air 3 battery as compatible with the Air 3S, so one set of packs covers both drones. More detail in our Air 3 batteries and chargers guide.
2. Battery charging hub
The Air 3 Series Battery Charging Hub holds three batteries and charges them one after another, starting with the fullest. It can also move leftover charge into one pack, and it works as a power bank (up to 82 W over USB-C) for your phone or controller. It doesn't include a power adapter. DJI quotes about 60 minutes per battery with its 100W USB-C adapter.
3. Spare propellers
Props chip from grass, sand and hard landings. A nicked blade costs efficiency and adds vibration. Keep a spare pair of Air 3 Series Low-Noise Propellers in the bag. See Air 3 propellers for how to swap them.
4. Propeller guard
The Air 3 Series Propeller Guard is worth it for indoor flights, tight spaces and new pilots. Note that DJI says the Nifty bypass option of APAS doesn't work normally with the guard fitted, and the extra drag shortens flights a little.
5. A better controller
The Air 3 ships with the RC-N2, which uses your phone. If you fly often, the DJI RC 2 gives you a bright 5.5-inch screen and no phone calls mid-flight. The RC-N3 is a cheap spare. Compare them in Air 3 controllers.
6. ND filters
For smooth video in daylight you need ND filters to keep the shutter speed down. Buy the set made for the Air 3. The Air 3S ND set is shaped for the Air 3S cameras and is not listed for the Air 3. Our Air 3 ND filter guide explains which strength to use.
7. A recommended microSD card
The Air 3 has 8 GB of internal storage, which fills fast at 4K. DJI recommends cards such as the Lexar 1066x (64 to 512 GB, V30) and Kingston Canvas Go! Plus. See Air 3 SD cards.
What to skip
- "Extended" batteries: DJI doesn't make a higher-capacity Air 3 battery. Third-party packs aren't approved by DJI.
- Heavy add-on mounts: extra weight cuts flight time and wind resistance.
- Range boosters: unapproved antenna amplifiers can change the radio's output. The stock O4 link is already strong.

If you are buying now, the DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo bundles three batteries, the hub and a bag for less than buying them separately. Already own one? Add a spare battery first.
