Yes. The DJI Avata 2 is legal to buy, own and fly in the United States. It launched in the US in 2024 and was authorized by the FCC long before the FCC added foreign-made drones, including DJI, to its Covered List in December 2025. That decision blocks new models, not existing ones. The Avata 2 can look "not available in the USA" because stock is thin and some retailers don't list it. We sell it from $934.

Why it looks unavailable
- Thin supply. Customs holds in 2024 and 2025, and import tariffs since September 3, 2026, have kept DJI stock low across the US.
- Retailer listings. Some stores show the Avata 2 as unavailable for US buyers when they can't get stock.
- No new models. Future DJI drones that need new FCC authorization can't get it while the decision stands.
None of this makes owning or flying an Avata 2 illegal. Read why are DJI drones out of stock and is DJI banned in the US.
