Can the DJI Power 2000 run a fridge, charge a Tesla or jump-start a car?

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

Yes, the DJI Power 2000 can run a refrigerator: a typical full-size fridge averages 100 to 200 W, so its 2048 Wh battery lasts roughly 9 to 17 hours. It can't meaningfully charge a Tesla; 2 kWh adds only a handful of miles. And it isn't a jump starter. DJI doesn't list jump-starting as a feature, and its car chargers are designed to recharge the power station, not crank an engine.

What a Power 2000 can do
Based on DJI's specs and FAQ. Fridges need continuous AC mode. DJI's car chargers don't work with hybrids or EVs, and DJI doesn't list jump-starting as a feature.

Running a fridge

Set it up right:

  1. Plug the fridge into an AC outlet on the power station.
  2. Press and hold the AC button until its light is solid. DJI's manual says to do this for devices that run intermittently, like refrigerators.
  3. If you only tap the AC button (light blinks slowly), AC output shuts off after 30 minutes with no load, which can happen while the fridge's compressor is resting.

How long it lasts: about 2048 Wh × 0.85 ÷ the fridge's average watts.

Fridge Average draw Approx. run time
Mini fridge 50 W About 35 hours
12 V camping fridge (via SDC car-socket cable) 40 to 60 W About 30+ hours
Full-size kitchen fridge 100 to 200 W About 9 to 17 hours
Fridge plus chest freezer 250 W About 7 hours

Fridges draw a short burst when the compressor starts, well within the 3000 W output. Keep the doors closed during an outage. An expansion battery doubles run time per pack.

For 12 V fridges, DJI's SDC to Car Charger Plug Power Cable supplies car-socket power (13.6 V, up to 10 A) without using the AC inverter.

Charging a Tesla or other EV

Technically, an EV's portable charger on a 120 V household outlet can plug into the Power 2000's AC output, as long as the draw stays under 3000 W. But the numbers don't work in its favor:

  • The Power 2000 holds 2.048 kWh. After conversion losses, maybe 1.5 to 1.7 kWh reaches the car.
  • Most EVs travel roughly 3 to 4 miles per kWh.
  • That's about 5 to 7 miles of range from a full Power 2000.

It's an emergency trickle at best, and some EV chargers may refuse to run on a portable power station. Check your car's charging manual. And going the other way, DJI says hybrid and fully electric vehicles aren't compatible with its 1kW and 1.8kW Super Fast Car Chargers, so you can't recharge the Power 2000 from an EV with those.

Jump-starting a car

No. A jump start needs hundreds of amps for a few seconds through clamps on the battery, and the Power 2000 has no jump-start output or clamps. DJI doesn't list it as a feature.

What DJI does describe: when its 1kW or 1.8kW Super Fast Car Charger is installed in a gas car, it holds the car battery around 13.5 V. If the car battery drops below that, the charger can send power from the Power 2000 to the battery. That helps keep a parked car's battery topped up; it isn't a jump starter. For a dead battery, use a dedicated jump pack or cables.

Other big appliances

DJI says the 3000 W output runs over 99% of household appliances, including induction cooktops, microwaves and ovens. Keep the total load under 3000 W and remember that high-power devices drain it fast: a 1500 W kettle or heater empties it in about an hour.
