DJI Power 2000 first use, manual and setup

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

To set up a DJI Power 2000, charge it from a wall outlet with the included AC cable, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn it on, and connect it to the DJI Home app to update firmware and register it. Then press the AC button to turn on the outlets. USB ports work as soon as it's on. The full user manual is on DJI's Power 2000 downloads page.

From DJI's Power 2000 user manual. Connecting to DJI Home also unlocks DJI's extra 2 years of warranty, per DJI's US store.

In the box

DJI's store lists the DJI Power 2000 and a DJI Power AC Power Cable. Car, solar and drone charging cables are separate accessories.

The screen shows battery level, remaining run or recharge time, input and output watts, active ports, error codes and the Wi-Fi status icon.

First-use steps

  1. Charge it. Plug the AC cable into the AC input and a wall outlet. Fast mode reaches 80% in about 55 minutes on US power. See Power 2000 charging time.
  2. Turn it on (hold the power button 2 s).
  3. Connect DJI Home over Bluetooth, then join your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. DJI's US store says this first connection adds 2 years to the 3-year standard warranty. Details: Power 2000 app and Wi-Fi.
  4. Update firmware when the app prompts. Connect any expansion battery or Super Fast Charger first so they update too.
  5. Power something: press AC for the outlets, or plug into USB-C, USB-A or SDC.

Noise and fan

DJI says that in Standard Recharge mode, the Power 2000 is no louder than 30 dB at 1 m, quieter than most fridges. Fast Recharge and heavy loads run the fans harder, so they're louder. For quiet overnight charging, use Standard mode. Don't block the vents.

A faint smell during heavy use is normal, according to DJI: the internal electronics have a waterproof coating, and the smell fades with use.

Is it waterproof?

No. DJI says a potting process protects the inverter in rain, condensation and salt spray, but sets limits: don't run it in rain for more than 3 minutes, in condensation for more than 30 minutes, or in salt fog for more than 8 hours. Keep it under cover, off wet ground, and never place it where water can pool.

Temperature limits

  • Using it: -10° to 45° C (14° to 113° F)
  • Recharging: 0° to 45° C (32° to 113° F)
  • Storage: -10° to 45° C (14° to 113° F)

Cold reduces both input and output power.

Storage and care

  • Store at 50% to 70%, ideally about 60%. Don't store it empty.
  • Check the level every 3 to 4 months and recharge if needed.
  • About every 6 months, run it below 15%, power off for 2 hours or more, then charge to 100% in Standard mode.
  • Clean ports with a dry cloth. No alcohol or solvents.

Common first-day notices

  • ERR13 or ERR14: AC frequency doesn't match the local grid (for example, a unit from another region). Hold the AC button for more than 10 seconds to switch frequency.
  • Temperature icon: too hot or cold; let it return to normal.
  • AC turned itself off: hold the AC button for continuous output.

More codes: DJI power station error codes.

Firmware update by computer

If the app update fails, use DJI Assistant 2 (Power Series): power off, hold the AC and power buttons together until the USB-C icon blinks, connect the designated USB-C port to your computer, and update. If it shows UPGD FAIL, disconnect everything, hold power for 5 seconds, and try again. DJI's latest listed firmware is v01.00.15.00 (June 2026).
