DJI Power 2000 weight and size: how portable is it?

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

The DJI Power 2000 weighs about 22 kg (48.5 lb) and measures 448 × 225 × 324 mm (about 17.6 × 8.9 × 12.8 in), which DJI compares to a small carry-on suitcase. It's portable in the sense that one adult can lift it into a car trunk or carry it across a campsite, but it isn't something you'll hike with. DJI's specs don't list wheels or a trolley.

Approximate weights from DJI's specs and US store comparison. The Power 2000 is a two-hand, short-carry unit; with an expansion battery it becomes a two-trip setup.

Size and weight in context

DJI Power 2000 DJI Power 1000 Expansion Battery 2000
Capacity 2048 Wh 1024 Wh 2048 Wh
Weight About 22 kg About 13 kg About 16.5 kg
Size (mm) 448 × 225 × 324 448 × 225 × 230 448.5 × 225 × 234
Continuous AC 3000 W 2200 W None (adds capacity)

The Power 2000 shares its footprint with the Power 1000; it's just taller. That makes them easy to stack-plan in a trunk or a van shelf. The Power 2000 roughly doubles capacity for about 70% more weight.

Carrying it

  • Lift with your legs and keep it close to your body. At 22 kg, a two-person carry is easier over long distances.
  • DJI puts all ports, buttons and the screen on the front, so you can push it against a wall or into a trunk and still reach everything.
  • Use a small hand truck or a wagon if you move it often; DJI doesn't sell wheels for it in the materials we checked.

Cases and bags

DJI's US store lists only the power station and the AC power cable in the box. No case or bag is included. If you want one, choose a padded case that fits 448 × 225 × 324 mm with room for the cable, and leave the vents uncovered whenever it's running or charging.

Mounts and brackets

DJI's overview lists two 1/4-inch threaded ports on the Power 2000 for connecting accessories. For vans, RVs and boats, secure it so it can't slide in a sudden stop: a strapped-down tray or a bracket attached to those threaded points, sized for its weight.

DJI says the shell is made of flame-retardant materials and has a static load capacity of up to 1 ton, so stacking gear on it is fine, but keep the vents clear.

Where it travels well

  • Car camping and RVs: fits a trunk, and charges from the car with DJI's 1kW or 1.8kW Super Fast Charger.
  • Film sets and drone shoots: runs lights, monitors and laptops, and fast-charges supported DJI drone batteries through the SDC ports.
  • Home backup: move it room to room as needed.

It can operate up to 5000 m altitude, per DJI's specs.

Flying with it

You can't take it on a plane. At 2048 Wh it is far above airline limits for lithium batteries in passenger baggage, which top out at 160 Wh with airline approval. Ship it by ground, or plan to rent power at your destination. For drone batteries, see traveling with a drone.

Need something lighter?

If 22 kg is too much, the DJI Power 1000 is about 13 kg with 1024 Wh. If you need more capacity but want to move it in pieces, a Power 2000 plus an Expansion Battery 2000 splits into two lifts.
