DJI Flip QuickTransfer not working: fixes

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

DJI Flip QuickTransfer usually fails because Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or location is off on the phone, another phone or controller is already connected, or the phone is too far away. Turn on all three phone settings, keep the phone within 2 m of the Flip, open DJI Fly and tap the QuickTransfer panel. The first time, hold the Flip's power button to confirm.

Flip QuickTransfer
QuickTransfer details from DJI's Flip FAQ and manual. The 30 MB/s figure is DJI's lab number; real speed depends on the phone and interference.

How to use it

  1. Power on the Flip and wait for the self-check to finish.
  2. On the phone, turn on Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location services.
  3. Open DJI Fly and tap the QuickTransfer (or Wi-Fi Devices) panel on the home screen.
  4. Select your Flip. The first time, press and hold its power button to confirm.
  5. Browse and download photos and videos.

DJI rates the download speed at up to 30 MB/s in lab conditions.

If the phone can't find the Flip

  • All three settings on. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and location services must be enabled, and DJI Fly needs permission for each in your phone's app settings.
  • Turn off the old connection. DJI says that to switch to a new phone, you should turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the previously connected phone first.
  • Power off the controller. If the RC-N3 or RC 2 is on and connected, DJI's manual says to power it off before connecting a phone over Wi-Fi.
  • Confirm on the drone. If you didn't hold the power button when prompted the first time, pairing didn't complete. Restart and retry.
  • Restart and update. Power cycle the Flip, force-close DJI Fly, and install the latest app and firmware.

If it's slow or drops out

  • Keep the phone within 2 m (about 6.5 ft) of the Flip with nothing in between. That's DJI's own advice.
  • Move away from Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth speakers and headphones.
  • Older phones without 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi may fall back to slower 2.4 GHz.
  • Big 4K files take time even at full speed. Download only the clips you need.

Other ways to get your files

  • Computer: DJI's FAQ says you can connect the Flip to a computer with a data cable, without powering it on, to copy footage.
  • microSD card: take the card out and use a card reader.

If the phone also won't connect for flying, see Flip not connecting. The general DJI QuickTransfer troubleshooting guide covers other models. More on the drone is in the Flip guide.
