DJI rates the Mavic 3 Pro at up to 43 minutes of flight and 37 minutes of hover per battery. In everyday flying, expect about 34 to 37 minutes before you should land with a safe reserve. A battery recharges in about 70 minutes with DJI's 100W USB-C Power Adapter and charging hub, which come in the Fly More Combo, or about 96 minutes with the 65W Portable Charger in the standard kit.

How DJI measures 43 minutes
DJI's figure comes from a wind-tunnel test: flying forward at a steady 32.4 km/h (about 20 mph) in conditions equal to still air at sea level, with obstacle avoidance set to Brake and the camera in Photo mode, until the battery forced a landing. Hover time (37 minutes) and the 28 km maximum flight distance were measured in similar controlled conditions. Real flights add climbs, turns, wind, recording and a landing reserve.
Real-world flight time
| Conditions | Expect about |
|---|---|
| Calm, gentle cruising | 35 to 37 min |
| Typical filming with climbs and turns | 32 to 35 min |
| Steady wind, lots of Sport mode | 26 to 30 min |
| Cold weather near freezing | noticeably less |
These are our estimates, landing with 15 to 20% left. DJI Fly works out how much battery you need to get home and warns you in time.
Why it flies less than the Mavic 3 Classic
The Pro weighs 958 g, 63 g more than the 895 g Classic, because it carries two extra cameras. Same battery, more weight: 43 rated minutes instead of 46.
Is there an extended battery?
No. The Mavic 3 Pro uses the standard Mavic 3 Series Intelligent Flight Battery (5000 mAh, 77 Wh). There's no larger-capacity pack for it, and at 77 Wh it stays under the 100 Wh airline limit. To fly longer, carry more batteries.
What drains the battery faster
- Wind. Hovering and flying upwind cost the most.
- Sport mode. Up to 21 m/s uses power quickly.
- Cold. Keep batteries warm before takeoff.
- Altitude. Thin air at high elevations makes the motors work harder.
- Constant climbing and aggressive stick inputs.
Charging time
| Method | Time from empty |
|---|---|
| DJI 100W USB-C Power Adapter + 100W hub | about 70 min |
| DJI 65W Portable Charger | about 96 min |
| Three batteries on the 100W hub | about 3.5 hours (in sequence) |
The three-battery time is our estimate, since the hub charges one battery after another. More in Mavic 3 Pro batteries and chargers.
How many batteries do you need?
Three batteries give about 129 rated minutes, or roughly 100 to 110 minutes of real flying, enough for most shoots. The Fly More Combo includes three, plus the hub and the ND filter set. Spare Mavic 3 Series batteries are $175. See Mavic 3 Pro combo.
Keep batteries healthy
DJI rates the battery for 200 cycles. Charge each battery fully at least once every three months, store them partly charged, and don't run them to zero. See drone battery care.
How it compares
| Drone | Rated flight time |
|---|---|
| Mavic 3 Pro | 43 min |
| Mavic 3 Classic | 46 min |
| Mavic 4 Pro | 51 min |
