Yes, DJI Mic 2 is good enough for YouTube, interviews and most professional video. Its transmitters have low self-noise (21 dBA), handle loud sources up to 120 dB SPL, and can record a 32-bit float backup on board, so a wireless dropout or a clipped shout can usually be saved. Its limits are the clip-on look of the transmitter, no XLR output, and no published timecode.

What it does well
- Clean voice. 21 dBA self-noise is quiet for a clip-on mic, so voices sound clear without hiss when you turn them up.
- Safety net. Internal recording on each transmitter means you always have a second copy of each voice.
- Flexible. Works with cameras by 3.5 mm cable, phones by USB-C or Lightning adapter or Bluetooth, computers by USB-C, and connects straight to the Osmo Pocket 3 and Osmo Action 4.
- Easy monitoring. The receiver's touchscreen shows levels, gain and battery for everything, and has a headphone port.
- Lav input. Plug in a wired lavalier when the transmitter would be too visible.
Limits
- Omnidirectional. It picks up the room as well as the voice. Place it 15 to 20 cm from the mouth, which is DJI's advice for its lav mic too.
- Noise cancelling is on or off. It's useful for steady noise, but it isn't adjustable and it isn't available over phone Bluetooth.
- Visible transmitter. At 28 g it's larger than the 10 g Mic Mini.
- No XLR out for pro recorders and cinema cameras without adapters.
- Shorter battery than the Mic Mini: 6 hours vs 11.5.
Is it quiet enough for YouTube?
For talking-head videos, vlogs, podcasts and interviews, yes. Most audio problems come from placement and gain, not the mic. Set your camera's gain low, raise the receiver gain, turn on low cut, and keep the mic close. See Mic 2 gain and noise cancelling.
