They solve different problems. The DJI RS 4 Mini stabilizes a mirrorless camera of up to 2 kg, so you get your camera's image quality and lenses with smooth motion, at about 890 g plus the camera. The Osmo Mobile 8 and 7P stabilize your phone, which is the lightest and cheapest route. The Osmo Pocket 3 is a camera and gimbal in one: a 1-inch sensor on a built-in 3-axis gimbal that fits in a pocket. Choose by the camera you want to film with.

RS 4 Mini: for real cameras
The RS 4 Mini makes sense when you already own a mirrorless camera and want smooth walking shots, product moves or B-roll. Benefits: large sensors, interchangeable lenses, better low light and shallow depth of field. Costs: you balance the gimbal each time you change camera or lens, and the full rig is heavier. DJI's FAQ notes you rebalance even when switching to a phone with its phone holder. Setup tips: how to balance a DJI RS 4 and RS 4 Mini best settings.
Osmo Mobile: for phones
Phone gimbals are light, fast and cheap, and modern phones film very well in daylight. The Osmo Mobile 8 adds 360-degree unlimited pan and Apple DockKit tracking; the 7P includes the Multifunctional Module for tracking in your phone's own camera app. Our in-stock Osmo Mobile 6 has a 215 mm built-in extension rod and about 6.4 hours of battery. Osmo Pocket 3: everything in one
No balancing, no phone, no clamps. Turn the screen and it's recording within seconds. The 1-inch sensor and 10-bit D-Log M beat most phones in dim light, and face tracking keeps you framed. The trade-off is a fixed 20 mm lens. See is the Osmo Pocket 3 worth it.
