A DJI Mini 4 Pro battery takes about 70 minutes to charge fully in the drone, or about 58 minutes in the Two-Way Charging Hub, using DJI's 30W USB-C charger or another 30 W USB Power Delivery charger. The larger Battery Plus takes about 101 minutes in the drone and 78 in the hub. The battery is full when all four battery level LEDs stay solid.

Charging times
| What you're charging | Time | Source of power |
|---|---|---|
| Standard battery, in the drone | about 70 min | 30 W USB-C PD |
| Standard battery, in the hub | about 58 min | 30 W USB-C PD |
| Battery Plus, in the drone | about 101 min | 30 W USB-C PD |
| Battery Plus, in the hub | about 78 min | 30 W USB-C PD |
| DJI RC 2 controller | about 1.5 hours | 9V/3A charger |
| DJI RC-N2 controller | about 2.5 hours | 5V/2A charger |
The hub charges batteries one at a time, fullest first. Three empty standard batteries take about three hours in total.
How to know when it's fully charged
In the drone (drone powered off): the four battery level LEDs on the battery show progress while charging. When all four are solid, it's full. Unplug the charger. DJI notes the LEDs blink faster with a faster charger.
In the charging hub: each battery slot has its own row of status LEDs. They blink while that battery charges and turn solid green when it's full. Press the hub's function button once to check levels.
In DJI Fly: with the drone on, the battery percentage shows at the top of the screen. Note the drone won't charge while it's powered on.
Why it's charging slowly or not at all
- The drone is on. The battery only charges when the aircraft is powered off.
- The charger is too weak. A 5 W phone cube will take hours. Use a USB-C PD charger, 30 W or higher. More than 30 W won't speed it up, since 30 W is the maximum DJI supports.
- The battery is too hot or cold. Charging only happens between 41° and 104° F (5° to 40° C). DJI says to let a battery cool after flying before you charge it. Ideal is 72° to 82° F.
- The battery is in protection mode. Specific LED blink patterns signal overcurrent, overcharge or temperature problems. Unplug and reconnect; for temperature, wait.
- It was shipped in hibernation. New batteries must be charged once to wake up.
If a battery still won't charge, see DJI battery not charging.
Fastest way to charge a set
- Use the Two-Way Charging Hub with a 30 W PD charger.
- Charge in a cool, ventilated room. DJI says charging is fastest around 77° F (25° C).
- Swap the full battery out and the hub moves to the next.
- Charge the RC 2 with a 9V/3A charger at the same time from a separate outlet.
Tips for battery health
- Charge close to flying day. DJI's batteries automatically discharge to 96% after three idle days and to 60% after nine, to prevent swelling.
- Fully charge each battery at least once every three months.
- For transport, DJI suggests keeping batteries at 30% or less.
