A DJI Mini 5 Pro standard battery takes about 46 minutes to fully charge in the Two-Way Charging Hub, or about 69 minutes charging inside the drone, using the DJI 65W Portable Charger. Three batteries in the hub take about 115 minutes. The larger Battery Plus takes about 56 minutes in the hub and 94 minutes in the drone. These are DJI's figures at 25° C (77° F).

Full charge times
| What you're charging | Standard battery | Battery Plus |
|---|---|---|
| One battery, in the drone | About 69 min | About 94 min |
| One battery, Two-Way Charging Hub | About 46 min | About 56 min |
| Three batteries, Two-Way Charging Hub | About 115 min | About 193 min |
All with the DJI 65W Portable Charger.
Why the hub is faster for three
With a charger of 45 W or more that supports USB PD (at least 3 A at 15 V) and a 3 A cable, the hub charges two standard batteries at the same time. It first tops up the second-fullest battery to match the fullest, then charges both together. Below 45 W it charges one at a time, starting with the fullest. Battery Plus packs always charge one after another, which is why three Plus packs take about 193 minutes.
What makes charging slower
- A weaker charger. DJI's times assume 65 W. A 30 W or phone charger works but takes longer, and the hub won't parallel-charge below 45 W.
- Heat. DJI says charging is fastest in a ventilated room at 25° C. Batteries only charge between 5° and 40° C (41° to 104° F), and charging stops if the cells pass 55° C (131° F).
- A hot battery. Straight after a flight, let it cool first.
- Drone powered on. The battery doesn't charge in the drone while it's on.
- Low-quality cable. Use a cable rated for 3 A or more.
How to tell it's charging and full
- In the drone: the battery level LEDs show the charge level and blink while charging. DJI says they blink faster with a fast charger.
- In the hub: each port's LEDs blink in sequence while charging (fast with a PD charger, slow with a normal one) and stay solid when full.
- Four LEDs blinking together on a battery means it's damaged, per DJI. Don't use it.
Charge time for the controller
The RC-N3 takes about 2 hours to charge, and DJI recommends a 5 V/2 A charger. The DJI RC 2 supports fast charging at up to 9 V/3 A.
Plan your day
With three standard batteries and one 65 W charger, you can fly about an hour of real flights, then be fully recharged in roughly two hours. In the field, a USB-C PD power bank or car charger keeps the hub going. The hub can also act as a power bank for your phone or controller, and can combine leftover charge into one battery for a final flight.
If a battery won't charge at all, see DJI battery not charging or Mini 5 Pro not turning on. More on batteries in Mini 5 Pro batteries and chargers. The Fly More Combo of the DJI Mini 5 Pro includes three batteries and the hub.
