The DJI Mini 5 Pro uses DJI's 6028F propellers: 6.0 × 2.8 inch, about 2.8 g each, sold in pairs. They press on and twist to lock, matched to the motors by color marks. DJI says to use only official DJI propellers and not to mix types. There are no official "low-noise" props for the Mini 5 Pro; DJI says the standard blades are already dynamically balanced for efficiency and lower noise.

How to change Mini 5 Pro propellers
- Power off and remove the battery. DJI's manual says to remove the battery before attaching or detaching props.
- Hold the motor so it can't turn.
- Remove the old prop: press it down toward the motor and rotate. DJI's propeller guard guide shows orange-marked props turning counterclockwise and gray-marked ones clockwise to come off.
- Check the marks. Each prop and motor has a gray or orange mark. They must match.
- Fit the new prop: press down onto the matching motor and twist to lock. Give it a gentle tug to confirm it's secure.
- Replace props in pairs if both blades on a motor are worn.
A prop on the wrong motor pushes air the wrong way, so the drone can't take off or fly properly. See how to change DJI propellers for general tips.
When to replace propellers
DJI calls propellers consumables. Replace them when you see:
- Chips, cracks or nicks on any edge.
- Bends or warping, often from bag pressure.
- Wear after a strike, even a light one on grass or a branch.
- New vibration in flight or in footage, which can point to a damaged or loose prop.
DJI's manual says never to fly with aged, chipped or broken props. Clean them with a soft, dry cloth.
Folding and storage
When folding props after a flight, DJI suggests holding the middle of the two blades with both hands and pushing them inward together, without overlapping them too much. Store the drone so nothing presses on the blades. Fit the storage cover to protect the gimbal.
Quiet propellers and upgrades
- Official low-noise props: DJI sells them for some drones, like the Air 3 series, but its store lists only the standard Mini 5 Pro propeller for this model.
- Third-party "quiet" or colored props: we don't recommend them. DJI warns that unauthorized parts can cause malfunctions, and different blades change the balance and the drone's weight against its C0 and sub-250 g figures.
- Want quieter flights? Fly higher (legally), smoother and slower. Cine mode helps.
Propeller guards
DJI's Quick-Release 360° Propeller Guard has integrated propellers, so you swap the regular props for the guard set. It needs firmware v01.00.0400 or later and limits height to 120 m. See Mini 5 Pro propeller guards.
Motor or prop error?
If DJI Fly shows a propeller or motor warning after a swap, check every prop's color match and that each one is locked. See DJI motor propeller error.
Mini 5 Pro props are sold in pairs and stock varies; contact us to order, or get three spare pairs in the Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo.
