DJI Mavic 3 Classic propellers: replacement, upgrades and quiet props

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic uses DJI's Low-Noise Quick Release Propellers, model 9453F, sold as Mavic 3 series low-noise propellers. They twist on and off without tools. There are two types that spin in opposite directions: props with marks go on the motors with marks, and unmarked props on unmarked motors. The stock props are already DJI's low-noise design, and there's no official "quieter" upgrade.

Propeller facts

Item Detail
Model DJI 9453F Low-Noise Propellers
Weight 8.5 g per propeller (DJI)
Mount Quick release: press and twist
Fits Mavic 3 Classic, Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Pro (Mavic 3 series props)

DJI's FAQ says the Mavic 3 series props have a new structure with softer edges, which reduces noise and causes less damage if they hit something.

How to replace them

  1. Power off and remove the battery.
  2. Detach: press the propeller down onto the motor and rotate it in the unlock direction.
  3. Match: marked propellers on marked motors, unmarked on unmarked.
  4. Attach: press each propeller onto its motor and turn until it locks.
  5. Check every blade is secure before flying.

Replace propellers in matched sets, and only use official DJI props. DJI's manual says not to mix propeller types.

When to replace

DJI says not to fly with aged, chipped or broken propellers. Check before every flight for:

  • Chips or cracks at the tips or edges.
  • Bends or warping, often from being squeezed in a bag.
  • Stress marks at the hub.
  • A prop that feels loose once locked.

After any strike, replace the whole affected pair even if damage looks minor. A damaged prop causes vibration, shaky footage and can fail in flight. Keep spares in your bag.

Are there quieter or upgraded props?

Not from DJI. The 9453F props are DJI's low-noise design for the Mavic 3 series. Third-party "quiet" or "performance" props exist, but DJI only supports its own props, and damage from unauthorized third-party accessories isn't covered by DJI Care Refresh. The best way to make the Classic quieter to people on the ground is to fly higher and farther away.

The propeller guard

DJI lists the Mavic 3 Propeller Guard as compatible with the Classic. It's useful when flying close to trees or structures. Trade-offs:

  • Extra weight means shorter flights and more wind drag.
  • DJI's manual says APAS Nifty mode may not work normally with the guard fitted.
  • In Europe, the guard counts as payload and affects the Classic's C1 class status.

Damaged motor or arm?

If a motor grinds, sticks or won't spin smoothly, land right away. DJI says not to modify the motors. Arm and motor damage needs a repair center. See Mavic 3 Classic repair and Mavic 3 Classic ESC error.

Flying quieter and safer

  • Keep spare props in the bag and swap any damaged blade immediately.
  • Store the drone with the storage cover on so props aren't bent.
  • Fly smoothly; aggressive stick inputs and Sport mode make more noise.
