For the DJI Mini 5 Pro, DJI lists only two spare and replacement parts: the propellers and the Intelligent Flight Battery (plus the Battery Plus in some regions). Broken arms, motors, the gimbal camera, the vision sensors and the forward LiDAR should go to DJI repair or an experienced repair center. The 225° roll gimbal and 1-inch camera are precise parts, and a rough DIY fix usually costs image quality.

Step 1: check the damage safely
- Power off and remove the battery.
- Inspect each prop for chips or cracks. Replace damaged ones in pairs.
- Turn each motor by hand. It should spin smoothly, with no grinding.
- Check the arms fold and lock firmly, and look for cracks in the arms, body and landing gear. The landing gear holds built-in antennas, so damage there can weaken the signal.
- Check the camera glass, the vision sensors and the LiDAR window on the nose.
- Check the battery for swelling, dents or a loose fit. Don't use a damaged battery.
DJI's advice after any crash or serious impact: check every part, and contact a DJI authorized dealer if anything looks wrong. Don't test-fly a drone with a cracked arm or rough motor.
Parts you can replace yourself
| Part | DIY? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Propellers | Yes | Model 6028F, press and twist. See Mini 5 Pro propellers |
| Battery | Yes | Slides out the back. See batteries and chargers |
| Storage cover, ND filters | Yes | Clip-on accessories |
| Arms, motors, ESCs | No | Arms carry wiring and antennas; needs disassembly |
| Gimbal and camera | No | Needs calibration after replacement |
| Vision sensors, LiDAR | No | Need factory-level calibration |
Third-party "arm replacement" and "gimbal replacement" kits are sold online. Fitting them means opening the drone, and damage done in the process isn't covered by DJI. DJI's manual also says not to modify the motors.
Gimbal problems
Signs: a tilted horizon, a "gimbal motor overloaded" warning, shaky footage, or a camera that won't level. First rule out simple causes: take off the storage cover before power-on, and launch from flat ground; DJI says grass or uneven ground can block the gimbal and trigger protection mode. Then calibrate the gimbal in DJI Fly. For drift, DJI's manual suggests calibrating the IMU and compass, and contacting DJI support if it persists. Don't bend the gimbal by hand. See Mini 5 Pro gimbal motor overloaded.
Motor and arm damage
Grinding, a motor that won't start, or an ESC warning needs repair. DJI says to land right away if a motor overloads or stalls. Grit can sometimes be cleared with a soft brush, but a bent shaft or a cracked arm must be replaced. See Mini 5 Pro ESC error.
Your repair options in the US
- DJI repair service: start a request on DJI Support. DJI quotes after inspecting the drone. Defects under warranty are covered; crash damage isn't. Because DJI didn't launch the Mini 5 Pro officially in the US, check with DJI or your dealer how service works for your unit.
- Our repair desk: we can assess the damage and arrange the fix. Start at repair.
- Care Refresh or insurance: ask us whether a US Care Refresh plan is available for this model. If not, a hull policy is what pays for crash repairs. See Mini 5 Pro protection.
The Mini 5 Pro stays legal to own, fly and repair in the US. For how the FCC's December 2025 decision affects parts and service, read DJI ban: repairs and parts.
Prevent the next one
- Keep obstacle avoidance on Bypass or Brake, and stay out of Sport mode near obstacles; sensing is off in Sport.
- Set RTH altitude above local trees and buildings.
- Respect the 12 m/s wind rating, and keep the LiDAR window clean for night flights.
