If your Osmo Pocket 3 has a defect, DJI's limited warranty covers the camera for 12 months. If you dropped it or got it wet, that's accidental damage, which the warranty doesn't cover; DJI Care Refresh does, with up to two replacements in one year for a fee per claim. You can add Care Refresh to a Pocket 3 that's new and unactivated, or within 30 days of activation.

Try these fixes before sending it in
Many Pocket 3 problems aren't hardware failures:
- Restart it and recharge with a USB-C PD charger.
- Update firmware in DJI Mimo. See Pocket 3 firmware update.
- Calibrate the gimbal in Settings, on a flat surface, without holding it.
- Check accessories. Remove the wide-angle lens, filters and handle, and try another microSD card.
- Factory reset in Settings. See reset Osmo Pocket 3.
Specific problems: won't turn on, gimbal not moving, gimbal protection and overheating.
What the DJI warranty covers
DJI's after-sales policy lists these warranty periods for Pocket 3 parts:
| Part | Warranty |
|---|---|
| Osmo Pocket 3 camera | 12 months |
| Battery Handle, Handle With 1/4″ Thread | 12 months |
| DJI Mic 2 transmitter (Creator Combo) | 12 months |
| Mini Tripod, Expansion Adapter, ND filters, Wide-Angle Lens | 3 months |
The warranty covers material and workmanship defects under normal use. It doesn't cover damage from accidents, exposure to moisture or sand, unauthorized disassembly, or repairs by unauthorized service providers. The Pocket 3 isn't water resistant, so water damage is a common out-of-warranty repair.
How DJI Care Refresh works for the Pocket 3
DJI Care Refresh is DJI's accidental damage plan. For the 1-year plan:
- Two replacements in one year, each for a replacement fee set by DJI.
- Covers accidental damage such as drops and water damage.
- Covered parts also get official warranty service while the plan is valid.
- DJI's FAQ lists a 2-year plan with four replacements in two years.
- International coverage: DJI lists the Osmo Pocket 3 among products that can be serviced at DJI repair centers in other regions that offer Care Refresh.
When to buy: with the camera, or within 30 days of activating it. That's longer than the 48-hour window for drones. After that, DJI may ask for video verification or an inspection.
We sell Care Refresh 1-Year for Osmo Pocket 3. To file a claim, see how to claim DJI Care Refresh, and check your plan with DJI Care status.
Is Care Refresh worth it on a Pocket 3?
The gimbal is the most fragile part. It's exposed when the camera is out of its cover, and a fall onto a hard floor can damage a motor or the camera module. If you travel, film kids, or shoot near water, the plan is cheap insurance. If the camera mostly sits on a tripod at home, the warranty alone may be enough. More on choosing: DJI Care Refresh explained.
Should you repair it yourself?
No. The Pocket 3 has no user-replaceable parts beyond accessories, and DJI's warranty excludes damage from disassembly or shell opening that doesn't follow its instructions. DJI or an authorized repair center can replace the gimbal or camera module properly.
Starting a repair
- Note the serial number (Settings > Device Info) and your proof of purchase.
- Back up the microSD card, then remove it.
- Send it through DJI support, or contact us if you bought it here and we'll help with the process. See repair and support.
To avoid future damage, store the camera in its protective cover when it's in a bag, and see Pocket 3 gimbal protection.
Warranty periods and Care Refresh terms are set by DJI and can change. Check DJI's current terms for your product.
