How to reset the Osmo Mobile 6 (and its Bluetooth)

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

To reset the Osmo Mobile 6's Bluetooth, power it on and press the Shutter/Record, Switch and Trigger buttons together for more than one second. DJI says this resets the Bluetooth name and connection. Then forget the gimbal in your phone's Bluetooth settings and reconnect from inside DJI Mimo. If the gimbal is frozen, hold the M button for 20 seconds to force it off.

Reset OM 6 Bluetooth
From DJI's Osmo Mobile 6 manual and FAQ. The button combo clears the gimbal's Bluetooth name and pairing so it can connect fresh.

1. Reset the Bluetooth connection

Use this when the gimbal won't connect, connects to the wrong phone, or you're handing it to someone else.

  1. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings and forget the Osmo Mobile 6 (named OM6 plus a code).
  2. Power on the gimbal.
  3. Press Shutter/Record + Switch + Trigger at the same time for about one second.
  4. Turn your phone's Bluetooth off and on.
  5. Open DJI Mimo and connect to the OM6 from inside the app, not the phone's Bluetooth menu.

To move it to a different phone, DJI also says you can disconnect from the current phone, turn that phone's Bluetooth off, and pair with the new one.

2. Force restart a frozen gimbal

  • Hold M for 20 seconds to force power off.
  • Power on again by unfolding the gimbal or holding M.
  • Restart DJI Mimo too.

3. Recalibrate if it's tilted or drifting

A "reset" for stabilization problems is really a recalibration. In DJI Mimo's gimbal settings:

  • Gimbal Auto Calibration: put the gimbal on a flat surface on its tripod and don't touch it during calibration. DJI says it reduces drift from magnetic interference or handling.
  • Horizontal Gimbal Adjustment: make sure the clamp is level first, then fine-tune the horizon.

Also check the clamp is centered on the phone and its dot lines up with the dot on the roll motor. See Osmo Mobile 6 not level.

Is there a factory reset?

DJI's Osmo Mobile 6 manual and FAQ don't list a separate factory reset beyond the Bluetooth reset above. Settings like follow speed, joystick speed and side wheel function live in DJI Mimo, so you can change them back there. If a problem survives a Bluetooth reset, a forced restart, recalibration and a firmware update, contact DJI support or see repair.

Other DJI gimbals

  • DJI OM 4 and older Osmo Mobile models: the steps differ by model. Use the user manual on that gimbal's DJI downloads page.
  • Osmo Pocket 3: see reset the Osmo Pocket 3.

Still not connecting?

Update DJI Mimo and the gimbal firmware (firmware update), make sure the first connection has internet for activation, and work through Osmo Mobile 6 not working.
