DJI Flip batteries and chargers: what to buy

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

The DJI Flip uses one battery type, the DJI Flip Intelligent Flight Battery: 3110 mAh, 22.3 Wh, about 83.5 g, rated for up to 31 minutes. We sell it for $109. For charging, DJI recommends the DJI Flip Parallel Charging Hub with the DJI 65W Portable Charger, which fills two batteries at once in about 70 minutes. No Flip kit includes a wall charger, so plan to buy one or use a USB PD charger you already own.

DJI Flip Intelligent Flight Battery
DJI's published battery specs. At 22.3 Wh the Flip battery is far under the 100 Wh airline threshold; spares travel in carry-on only.

Flip battery specs

DJI Flip Intelligent Flight Battery
Capacity 3110 mAh
Voltage 7.16 V nominal
Energy 22.3 Wh
Type Li-ion (LiNiMnCoO2)
Weight About 83.5 g
Charging temperature 5° to 40° C (41° to 104° F)
Flight time Up to 31 min (rated), about 25 min real

There's no high-capacity "Plus" battery for the Flip. DJI sells only this one, and its weight is part of why the Flip stays under 249 g. See Flip battery life.

Charging options

Method Power 0 to 100%
In the drone, via its USB-C port 30W max About 70 min
Charging hub, one battery 48W max About 45 min
Charging hub, two at once 65W total About 70 min for both

The drone accepts up to 30W through its USB-C port. The hub only charges two at once with a charger that delivers at least 65W (4.3A at 15V) over USB PD, plus a PD cable rated for 5A. With a weaker charger, it charges one battery at a time. Full details in Flip charge time.

The DJI Flip Parallel Charging Hub

  • Holds four batteries for carrying.
  • Charges up to two at once with a 65W or stronger PD charger.
  • Power bank: with at least one battery inside, its USB-C port can charge your phone or tablet.
  • Comes in the Fly More Combo and is sold separately.

Each battery slot has its own status LEDs showing charge level.

Which charger to buy

Charger Use it for
DJI 65W Portable Charger Parallel charging in the hub (DJI's recommendation)
DJI 30W USB-C Charger Charging one battery inside the drone
Any USB PD charger Works; 65W+ needed for parallel hub charging

Check your charger's label before relying on parallel charging. DJI specifies 15V at 4.3A over PD. Many 65W laptop chargers supply less current than that at 15V, and the hub then charges one battery at a time.

First use and storage

New batteries ship in hibernation mode for safety. Charge each one before first use to wake it up; DJI's FAQ says to insert it into the drone or hub and connect a charger.

Store batteries partly charged, in a cool, dry place, and don't charge them hot right after a flight. See drone battery care.

What the kits include

Kit Batteries Hub Charger
Flip with RC-N3 1 No No
Fly More Combo (RC 2) 3 Yes No

See Flip Fly More Combo for the full contents.

Flying with spare batteries

At 22.3 Wh each, Flip batteries are well under the 100 Wh limit and need no airline approval. Spares go in carry-on bags only, with terminals protected. See traveling with a drone.
