Can you buy the DJI Mavic 4 Pro in the US? Ban status, price and repairs

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

Yes. The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is legal to buy, own and fly in the United States. It was FCC-authorized before December 2025, when the FCC added foreign-made drones, including DJI, to its Covered List; that decision blocks new models, not ones already authorized. But DJI never officially launched the Mavic 4 Pro in the US, so stock is limited and it isn't sold on DJI's US store. Care Refresh coverage varies by model, so check DJI's Care Refresh page or ask us about a US plan. We sell it from $2,419 when we have stock.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro in the US
The Mavic 4 Pro was FCC-authorized before the December 2025 Covered List decision, but DJI didn't launch it in the US. Stock comes through dealers when available.

Is the Mavic 4 Pro banned in the US?

No. Here's where it stands:

  • Buying: legal. Units reach US dealers through channels other than DJI's US launch, so supply is irregular.
  • Flying: legal under normal FAA rules. Register it, broadcast Remote ID (built in), and follow recreational or Part 107 rules.
  • Updates: in May 2026 the FCC extended firmware and software updates for already-authorized drones to January 1, 2029. DJI released Mavic 4 Pro firmware as recently as July 30, 2026.
  • Tariffs: imported drones have carried a Section 232 tariff since September 3, 2026, which affects prices.

In July 2026 the FCC also proposed restricting further import and sale of "military-grade" drones, naming categories such as thermal, LiDAR, spray and dock systems and drones over 55 lb. It's a proposal, not an adopted rule, and we don't speculate on how it might apply. For the full picture, read is DJI banned in the US.

Why wasn't it launched in the US?

DJI held back the US launch of the Mavic 4 Pro in 2025, citing import difficulties and tariffs, before the FCC decision. See why DJI drones are hard to find.

Warranty and repair in the USA

This is the real trade-off:

  • Care Refresh isn't a given. Ask us whether a US plan is available before you count on one. See Mavic 4 Pro protection for insurance options.
  • Warranty service can depend on where a unit was originally sold. Units imported from another region may not get US warranty service. See DJI warranty in the USA.
  • Repairs: you can open a request with DJI Support, and our repair desk can assess damage and help you through it. Ask before you buy if repair support is critical for your work.

If guaranteed US support matters most, the Mavic 3 Pro was officially sold here and has US Care Refresh.

What you need before flying in the US

  1. FAA registration: $5, valid 3 years. At 1,063 g it's well over 250 g. See FAA registration.
  2. Remote ID: built in. Add the serial number to your registration.
  3. TRUST certificate for recreational flying, or Part 107 for business use. See Mavic 4 Pro license.
  4. Airspace check with B4UFLY or Aloft before every flight.

Rules current as of October 2026. This is general information, not legal advice.
