DJI Care Refresh is available in the US for many DJI models, but coverage and prices vary by model, and DJI never officially launched the Mavic 4 Pro here. Before you buy, check DJI's Care Refresh page or ask us whether a US plan can be added to your Mavic 4 Pro. Either way, drone insurance is worth pricing: hull coverage for damage to the drone and liability coverage for damage you cause to others.
Care Refresh for the Mavic 4 Pro in the US
The Mavic 4 Pro was FCC authorized before the December 2025 Covered List change, so it's legal to buy, own and fly here. DJI's US Care Refresh page doesn't list plan availability model by model, so check it for your drone, or ask us, before you count on a plan. Two DJI rules apply in any case: the plan and the drone must be bought in the same country or region, and a plan added more than 48 hours after activation needs a video check of the drone. A plan bought abroad generally won't be serviced in the US.
DJI does publish Mavic 4 Pro Care Refresh fees for other markets, such as Canada, the UK and Australia. Those plans are for drones bought in those markets. Details in is DJI Care Refresh available in the US.
The DJI warranty
DJI's manufacturer warranty covers defects and failures in normal use, not crashes, water damage or unauthorized repairs. Warranty service is tied to the region of purchase, and the Mavic 4 Pro isn't an official US product, so ask your dealer how warranty claims are handled before you buy. Drone insurance: the real protection here
If you can't add Care Refresh, insurance does the heavy lifting. Even with a plan, only insurance covers damage you cause to others.
- Hull coverage pays to repair or replace the drone after a crash, water landing or flyaway, depending on the policy. On a drone that costs over $2,000, it's worth pricing.
- Liability coverage pays if the drone injures someone or damages property. Care Refresh never covered this anyway.
- Recreational pilots: the FAA doesn't require insurance, but some homeowners policies exclude drones. Check yours.
- Part 107 pilots: many clients want a certificate of liability insurance before you fly their job.
Compare options in drone insurance and drone insurance cost. Read the flyaway and water clauses closely, and check whether the policy needs flight logs.
Set up to avoid a claim
- Bind the drone to your DJI account and keep firmware current.
- Set RTH altitude above the tallest obstacles at every new location, and Signal Lost Action to RTH.
- Keep obstacle avoidance on Bypass or Brake. Sensing is off in Sport mode. See Mavic 4 Pro obstacle avoidance.

If you crash
Power off, remove the battery and inspect before flying again. Props and batteries you can replace yourself; arms, motors and the gimbal need a repair center. See Mavic 4 Pro repair and our repair desk.
