Osmo Mobile 6 compatible phones and weight limit

UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

The Osmo Mobile 6 fits phones that weigh 170 to 290 g, measure 67 to 84 mm wide and 6.9 to 10 mm thick. DJI says that covers most smartphones on the market, as long as your case and accessories keep you inside those numbers. For DJI Mimo, your phone needs iOS 15 or later, or Android 9 or later.

Osmo Mobile 6 phone limits
DJI's limits for the Osmo Mobile 6. The weight limit includes your case and anything you attach, like a lens or mic receiver.

The limits, explained

  • Weight (170 to 290 g): includes the case and anything mounted on the phone. DJI says the total weight of an add-on lens and phone must stay under 290 g. Over the limit, the motors work harder and the phone can droop or shake.
  • Width (67 to 84 mm): the clamp stretches across the phone's middle.
  • Thickness (6.9 to 10 mm): thick rugged cases often push phones past 10 mm.

DJI says you can keep a case on, and it doesn't require balancing; just put the clamp near the middle.

Will my phone work?

DJI publishes a combined Osmo Mobile phone compatibility list (SE, 6, 7, 7P, 8 and 8P) on the Osmo Mobile 6 downloads page. It shows, phone by phone, which lenses Mimo can use, maximum video resolution, slow motion, DynamicZoom and camera control support.

  • iPhone: the list covers iPhone 11 through iPhone 17 models. DJI says Mimo can use all iPhone lenses and supports manual ISO and shutter on iPhone.
  • Samsung Galaxy: recent S-series models are listed, with notes that some features need specific chipsets.
  • Xiaomi: recent Xiaomi models are listed. Features vary by model.
  • Google Pixel and OnePlus: recent models are listed.
  • Sony Xperia: we didn't find Xperia models on DJI's current list. If your Xperia is within the size and weight limits it will physically fit and stabilize, but Mimo features may be limited. Check the list before you buy.

Android limits

On Android, DJI says Mimo's camera features depend on how much access each phone maker gives apps:

  • Manual ISO and shutter speed aren't available in Mimo on Android; white balance is.
  • Resolution, slow motion and which lenses Mimo can use vary by phone.
  • Mimo usually supports the main and ultra-wide cameras on most Android phones.

Your phone's own camera app still works fine on the gimbal with full stabilization; you just won't get Mimo's tracking there.

Phones with big camera bumps

On some phones the gimbal arm can show up in the frame when you use the ultra-wide lens. DJI's fix: slide the magnetic clamp away from the camera until the arm disappears from view.

Adding a mic or lens

A wireless mic receiver or clip-on lens adds weight and shifts balance. Keep the total under 290 g. The gimbal has an M3×0.5 screw hole for a counterweight if you mount accessories. See Osmo Mobile 6 with a microphone.

Too heavy or too big?

Very large phones near the 290 g line, especially in a heavy case, are the most likely to struggle. Try a slimmer case first. For setup steps, read how to use the Osmo Mobile 6 and Osmo Mobile 6 not level, or shop the Osmo Mobile 6.
