For vlogging, the Osmo Pocket 3 is usually the better choice. Its 1-inch sensor on a 3-axis mechanical gimbal gives clean, smooth footage in daylight and indoors, with face tracking and a 2-inch rotating screen. The Insta360 X5 is a 360 camera, which is better for action and creative reframing but produces softer flat video and needs more editing. For Insta360 Luna, check Insta360's official pages for specs and US availability before comparing; we couldn't verify them.

Pocket 3 vs Insta360 X5
Image quality. The Pocket 3 records each frame from one large 1-inch sensor. A 360 camera splits the world across two lenses and you crop a flat view from the sphere, so a 16:9 clip is softer. In dim restaurants, evenings and indoor shots, the Pocket 3's bigger sensor is a clear advantage.
Stabilization. The Pocket 3 uses a mechanical gimbal, so it doesn't crop for stabilization and handles walking shots smoothly. 360 cameras stabilize in software, which works very well for action but can show artifacts in low light.
Framing. On the Pocket 3 you frame as you film. Rotate the screen to switch between horizontal and vertical, and use face tracking to keep you centered. A 360 camera lets you decide later, which is great for unpredictable action and terrible if you hate editing.
Durability. A 360 camera is better suited to rough use and wet conditions; check Insta360's waterproof rating. The Pocket 3's gimbal isn't waterproof and should be protected from drops and sand.
Audio. The Pocket 3 connects directly to DJI Mic 2 transmitters. See Osmo Pocket 3 wireless mic.
What about Insta360 Luna?
We can't verify Luna's specs from an official source, so we won't quote them. If you're comparing it with the Pocket 3, check these on Insta360's spec page: sensor size, whether stabilization is a 3-axis mechanical gimbal or electronic, maximum frame rates, log profile, battery runtime and screen size. Those are the specs that decide vlogging quality.
